and I am getting SO nervous and anxious about this trip.

I know this might sound really silly, but I am so worried that this whole trip is going to be a bust. :sad2: We are not the type of family to spend a lot of money on vacations, normally taking several shorter trips of a maybe 3-4 days (mostly visiting family) and we've never gone anywhere for as long as we'll be gone for this trip.....2 nights in a motel driving down, 5 nights at Disney, then 2 days with one overnight stay coming home. And we've certainly never spent this kind of money on a vacation! So now I'm afraid that the whole thing just isn't going to live up to the "hype".

My DH doesn't like rides, DS only likes a couple, and I'm the type who is up for almost anything. We are spending one day in each park (have 5 days of single park passes) and the extra half day that we arrive at MK. I made a list of attractions that DH and DS will go on/visit, and there's really only a handful at each park. MK did have about 10 but that included a few that quite honestly I wouldn't be sad about missing (Hall of Presidents? DH wants to see THAT? ;)) EPCOT is even worse, though Soarin is one of the few rides DS is DYING to go on (hopefully he won't chicken out at the last minute, he's watched a video of it about 100 times!) I think we will all like AK the best, but it's too bad that park closes so early or we'd spend the half day that we arrive there, too.

I guess I just need someone to reassure me that all will be well. We've had some minor financial set backs (Murphy has visited and given us car problems, doctor bills and unexpected worn out tires that weren't planned for!) so the idea of spending $1500 on a vacation is stressing us out. DS really would probably be just as happy sitting by the pool every day, but I think DH would kill me if we drove 1200 miles one way and spend that kind of money just to lounge by a pool!

Disney is magic, right?? :wizard: We are in for a magical time, surely. Right?! :thumbsup2

Go without too many expectations. The more you have, the more likely you are to be disappointed when things don't go exactly as planned.

I think you will be surprised once you get there, that there will be more to do and see than you thought and that your guys will catch "the Disney Bug" and have a great time.

Just sit back and relax, and have a great trip.

Sounds like it's your first trip to Disney it isn't like any other place in the world. Get to the park early go to the bigger rides that you want to ride first stop and get fast passes. Read as much of the boards as possible for tips. Disney World is magical for sure but you need to do it right or it can be less fun
Good luck

Thank you for the encouragement :)
Yes definitely our first trip, though I've been planning for about a year! I've probably over-planned if that is possible. I'm more worried that it just won't be as much fun for my boys (DH and DS9, ASD) as it is for most people, since they are definitely not like most people! I'm sure it will be fine but I'm still anxious about it. DS is already started to say No, he doesn't want to go...probably his anxiety about it setting it, and sometimes preparing him too far in advance makes him even more nervous. We will see!

Relax, have fun on the rides if you can but the rides are only a small part of the magic at WDW, stop worrying and have fun.

Hi there!! Here is my advice to you.....don't stress!!! I agree that you certainly should try and plan your 'must see' list, but just try and let things happen as they may with no certain expectations. If you are worried that you will not do enough because they aren't ride people, don't!! There is so much more to it than that. Just being there is magical, and maybe you will have a day just to hang at the pool, then hit a park at night for dinner and fireworks or parade etc. You're on vacation!!! and you're at DISNEY!!!!!!! You'll have fun, I know it!!!

ps.....The Hall of Presidents is pretty neat! And if you don't really like it, it's a good place to take a nap! :rotfl:
