Uh... I am stressing. We will be driving for the first time this coming friday evening, headed to the area for a Disney Cruise and a few days at Disney... Weather for our area isn't looking so great... snow starting friday as well. We can't get on the road until about 6pm... We will be taking Route 13 South, 64 E, picking up 95 around Suffolk VA...
If anyone lives in the areas along 95 that we will be traveling, how is your weather looking? I am hoping we can beat it south before it gets too heavy.
Wish us luck!

I'm in Mechanicsville, VA (right outside of Richmond) and as of this AM, they are calling for lite snow overnight Thursday ending around midnight. Says "could see a dusting of up to 1 inch". The suffolk route is further south, so I can't help you there, but keep checking the local weather station....www.wavy.com for updates. As of this AM, wavy is reporting "At this point the system looks strong enough to bring light snow or flurries into the area Thursday night into early Friday. The track will determine how much if any snow falls in the area and the strength of that system would also determine if the surface low forms and “adds” to the chance of accumulating snowfall."

I would think you will miss it :)

Lots of "if's" with those forecasts. Sounds like they don't really know how much snow, when it will start, or how long it will last. Even a bit of snow in these cold temps can paralyze I-95 and I-64.

It looks like it should only snow Friday morning in this area, so I wouldn't worry too much. It's only about a 40% chance of snow and I don't think it's going to be too much. Have a great trip!
