Leaving for the Magic in a few hours!!!!

Well, technically for Tampa tomorrow, then the Radisson at the port on Friday and then the Magic on Saturday.

I will try to post live from the Magic. We already know we are not going to Grand Cayman and will be going to Costa Maya instead which is just fine. I am determined to make the best of it no matter what....even though Jeanne is now threatening to hit Fl this weekend!!!

Good luck to all sailing this weekend and I can't wait to meet the other 9/25 cruisers onboard!!!

We will be flying out to Florida on Friday for the 9/25 cruise on the Magic. We are sure getting nervous about Jeanne though!

called DCL they said they have not made alternate plans for saturdays cruise-they are concerned about Sundays cruise instead. I am nervous for the sunday cruisers as well as us saturday cruisers. Please keep all of us and those in the hurricanes path (again) in your prayers-Magic HERE WE COME!!!!!

Have fun MMouse! We met on the Eastern last year enroute to Orient Beach! We were on the 10 night Hurricane Frances tour which made a stop in Costa Maya and Costa Maya was nice!

The weather nightmare has begun - Port Canaveral has issued an evacuation order and ships have to be out by 10 AM Saturday morning. See www.portcanaveral.org/

On a latest "Live from the Magic" thread, someone on the Magic said that they were not stoping at CC and instead were headed for home (Port Canveral??). My guess is they will get the Magic in, get everyone off and sailaway.

This is our worst nightmare. We have an 8AM MDT flight tomorrow morning and I really don't want to bring my family (DW and two young kids) into the path of Jeanne. Tomorrow is not going to be fun.

Zitofamily, don't panic! It still looks like we have an excellent chance for boarding and sailing on Saturday. A couple of things could happen. They may bring the Magic into PC and try to get us out early, like 3:00 pm. They may take her to port everglades and we'll board there and sail away. The storm could stall or travel slower than expected or even miss Florida. I think by being down there tomorrow and available first thing on Saturday, we will be okay. These things are way too unpredictible and generally slower than ever forcast, so again, I think we may be okay. Could be rocky the first night out, but they'll get us past that as quickly as possible.

Allears, I hope you're right but there's currently an evacuation order for Port Canaveral - all ships out by 10 AM Saturday. I don't think we'll be leaving from Port Canaveral unless something changes (which obviously it can). I don't think they will be able to leave from anywhere on the East Coast of Florida, unless something changes.

My problem is that we're supposed to get on an airplane at 8 AM tomorrow morning. I really don't want to be sitting in a hotel waiting out a hurricane. Another potential is that they order the area around our hotel to be evacuated.

So, I hope your optimism gets us through this but I really don't want to put my family at risk. I'll be on the phone to DCL at 6 AM my time tomorrow while heading to the airport.

I totally understand your concern. We fly out at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon, and I hoping we're able to get out a head of the storm on Saturday, whereever they dock. But you must do what feels right to you and your family. I'm sure I'll be on the phone with them as well.
