Leaves are slow to turn this fall

Here in the Washington DC area most trees are still green! While there is some early fall colors on some Maple trees, most trees look to change next week. This is late for us.

How are the fall colors in your hometown?

My neighbor and I were talking no more than 10 min ago and we said the same thing! I was married on Nov 5th and remember hoping that year that the trees would stay in full color at least until then. By our wedding day, most trees were bare or just that yucky brown color. This year, we have mostly green leaves everywhere! Some are just starting to turn.

Here in my area of Michigan, the fall colors seem to be at their peak. It happened REALLY quickly this year--it seems like all of a sudden last week every tree turned. It's really beautiful driving down my road.

The trees in my area changed early but they are dull, not so pretty to look at this year.

I'm in East TN and they only began to noticeably change last week, which is late, and most of the leaves are still green. I don't think it's going to be a prime season for color at all here.

I live in Illinois and I mentioned to my hubby a few days ago that the leaves always turn the 2nd week or no later than the 3rd week of October and lots are still green here.

Never saw autumn come this late before.

We're quite late here too. It's jsut starting to turn and usually by this time we are 75% turned and down.

I heard on the radio r something that it had to do with a hot dry summer and a rainy September, both of which we had here.

We hit our peak colors over the weekend. It rained last night & my backyard filled with leaves. We back up to the woods so we were expecting it, just not overnight!
