Leave next week and no luggage tags?

I called and made a DME reservation a few weeks ago (we had originally planned to drive). We leave on the 1st and I have not received luggage tags. This will be our first experience with DME, so I have no idea if this is normal or not. Should I call?
 
At the moment there seems to be some sort of backlog at DME. I went to WDW on March 9th and had booked DME months in advance. Normally I would have received my package shortly after booking. This time I got the package 2 days before departure. You can call them if you wish, it certainly won't hurt.

If you have magic bands you don't need the letter to get on the bus. As far as your luggage goes you can do one of two things. Collect the bags yourself and take them to the bus...which is what I would suggest. Your other option is to give the claim tickets to the DME folks and they can go and find the bags for you and send them to your resort.

We had decided that if we didn't receive the DME tags, we would pick up the bags ourselves from baggage claim and proceed to DME with them. Less chance of a mix up. Our tags have arrived tho, so we're good to go.
 

If you do choose to give your luggage claim tickets to the DME CM please double check that they enter the correct info. Ask them to repeat it back to you. Last month incorrect airline info was entered for my bag & it went missing for over 24 hours, and was very frustrating to try & get.

I often travel last minute so I rarely have the yellow luggage tags & this was the first time there was ever a mix-up, but from now on I will be sure they have my info correct!
