Leave her alone already!

I really don't feel sorry for her and not because she makes mega bucks and has a lot of fame for singing poorly and gyrating around. She has made too many poor decisions and she is a celebrity, and this is a media's favorite past time. The public loves hearing about this, and the media makes money giving the public what they want. Flame away, cause I am sure some of you will.

I am not flaming you but I do disagree. The mistakes she as made with her son are somewhat minor and they are acting as if the baby needs to be taken away from her. I agree she has made poor decisions, but eventually the media needs to move on and let her live her life. I agree with the above poster that children should be off limits with the media.

Although I won't hold up Britney as the model of parenthood, I certainly would not want a camera to have recorded each and every minute of my experience as a parent.

Leave the girl alone.

Agreed!

Stumbling I dont blame her for, Carrying a GLASS in hand and baby in the other is just bad. If it were a platic glass fair enough but glass ! if she fell on it with the baby!

Mothering instinct tell you not to carry a glass whilst carrying your child. The bodyguard could have carried the glass for her or the child for that matter.

Are you serious? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry, that is just ridiculous.

Let she who is without mothering sin cast the first stone. ;)

I saw the video last night and frankly the photographers that were there contributed to the situation. They were all hounding her and the bodyguards were pushing them away. It was a stressful situation to begin with and she looks kinda lost right about when she stumbles. She NEVER was in danger of losing the baby. The news person used all kinds of infamatory words like the babies head "snapped violently" back. It was ridiculous and sad.

I dont agree with her car seat problems, she has enough money to pay someone to figure that stuff out for her. The highchair I have to wonder about. But I do not work for CPS and would not wish them on anyone except a real child abuser and I am therefore unqualified to judge. This incident it seems to me the paparazzi that were there were to blame.

Geesh, I carried all kinds of things at the same time I carried DS. I can't imagine not having him on my hip while I went on with my routine at the same time.

EVIL, EVIL Britney! How dare she carry a glass while she carried her baby! ;)

By the way, her baby looks good, chubby and clean. :)

I do think that the press hound her, as they hound all major celebs. It's not nice, but it's part of the job.

However, I find it very difficult to 'feel sorry' for Ms. Spears - not because she has made herself a fortune or whatever, but because she brings out songs like 'Lucky' and 'Everytime' (like she has some awful, tragic life)

Songs don't necessarily reflect a celebrity's real life do they?

I keep wondering why so many people think that the press is fully allowed to hound celebrities endlessly? I remember reading that back in the golden days of Hollywood that the press was far more polite and used a lot more discretion than they do now. Gossip was common but peeking in windows and chasing stars around was more rare. Frankly, I wish that they'd get back to that.

The media won't stop until she learns to be a good mother. Driving with a child in your lap is a huge problem. Then there was the pics of the carseat facing forward with the baby's head slumped way over. Tripping with a glass that is specific to a certain drink implies she was drinking alcohol. :confused3

Wow,kinda harsh! The media gets to decide when Brittney is a good mother :scared1: Every mom I know parents in a different way-I wouldn't want anyone else to judge my parenting skills. OK,she should not have had the kid on her lap-so shoot her!
When I was little,my dad sold insurance and in Louisiana. They were advised to tell their customers that seat belts were dangerous because of all the waterways. If you were in a wreck, you might get stuck in your belt and drown. Now, of course, that's changed but how many of us on the Dis were children when seat belting was not the law? Lo and behold,we're still here and mostly in one piece.
Your kids sure are lucky to have a perfect mom who never makes a mistake! Please, would you post for us your rules on parenting so that we will never make a mistake and be perfect parents too!

I have to agree that the paparazzi had a big hand in this as well and so do the people who buy those publications that the paparazzi work for. Everyone who follows these celebrities every single move is contributing to this insanity. I know those celebrities need publicity to keep their careers going and it's a love hate relationship with the tabloids, but this country's obsession with celebrities has gotten out of control, IMO.

Don't get me wrong here, because I have zero respect for Britney Spears and how she has lived her life in the public eye. She's a train wreck waiting to happen and she's brought a lot of this on herself, to an extent. The entertainment press knows this and that's one of the reasons she's getting so much press. When her marriage to that poor excuse of a man ends and it will, the press will really be into full throttle overdrive. She hasn't had a new CD or toured in a few years now, yet the tabloids and the people who buy them, can't get enough of her. There's no excuse for the amount of coverage she's getting and it's like the tabloids are almost on a death watch or something.

When I was much younger, I thought it would be cool to be a rich celebrity and live the "lifestyle". No thanks! I'll just take the money, you can keep all the other nonsense.

Well those songs certainly don't :rotfl:

I doubt that the press will go back to being more respectable now though. People just aren't going to pay to only see celebs looking pretty on the red carpet. A lot of the public seem to love the trash. It's really a bit sad (and odd?) that people feel the need to buy some weekly mag to see who didn't put make-up on last week, or who's getting fat/skinny.

Even the UK's BB7 has got all glass walls and stuff in the house this year so that no one will have an ounce of privacy (I do not watch Big Brother, BTW - can't stand reality TV!). Even the wannabe-celebs are completely exposed these days for the BB obsessives.

I'm so glad that I am not famous.

Tripping with a glass that is specific to a certain drink implies she was drinking alcohol.
Who cares what it 'implies'? It could have been water, could have been vodka. It is legal to drink in this country. It's really not anyones business what she was drinking. It very well could be that she was handed water to drink in that glass.

For petes sake, she DID NOT drop the baby. The baby never left her arms.

This is a witch hunt and she cannot win no matter what she does. I cannot imagine that much public scrutiny/ridicule when I was a young mother.

She was paid to produce entertainment, period. She owes the public NO explanation of her private life. We really have no right to be seeing so much of her private life, IMHO.

Well said, I could not agree more. It is out of control, this feeding frenzy.

Is it ok to walk, chew bubblegum, and carry a baby? Just checking. Cause if I blow a bubble,I wouldn't want to scare myself-I might trip and almost fall.

I watched the video...sheesh, she stumbled and recovered. He didn't even almost fall, she almost fell. She never let go of him for a second, nor did she NEED assistance at all. I would have held onto whatever I was holding too, natural reaction.

I agree that celebrities are under the looking glass because of their fame, but at this point they seem to be on a witch hunt watching every move she makes with her baby. It's beyond ridiculous.

I agree with gg that the children should be off limits.

and did also see all of the people around her... its nuts. I could not imagine being in her shoes and just trying to walk outside and get into the car.

Are you freaking serious?! You cannot judge people by what they drink from! One of my students came into school late and his mom was standing in the hall w/a big Starbucks travel mug. I was wondering why she was waiting, so I went out and asked. She told me she was waiting for her child to come out and get his water. I assumed it was her coffee!!!!

I drink practically every cold beverage out of a huuuge martini glass. Why? B/c it holds a lot!!!! Have I tripped w/one in my hand? Sure did -- just last night. Does that imply that I'm constantly drinking alcohol!? Heavens no!!!!! If it implies that, my friends and neighbors must think I'm a consumate alcoholic.
