I am starting to really feel bad for Brittany Spears. She tripped a caught her balance as I have a few times with my kids in my hand it happens. Thank God the baby didn't get hurt. I would hate to have eveything I do put all over the news. They never said the glass had alcohol in it and i kind of doubt it did since she is pregnant and knows the news would be all over that too. What do you all think?

I wonder what the media would say about me when my daughter snuck out of the house a few months ago adn walked down the street in her diaper :confused3

She was wrong with the car seat incidents but this one is stupid. We all have dropped out kids or stumbled at times. Its so stupid that is it even in the news.

The media won't stop until she learns to be a good mother. Driving with a child in your lap is a huge problem. Then there was the pics of the carseat facing forward with the baby's head slumped way over. Tripping with a glass that is specific to a certain drink implies she was drinking alcohol. :confused3

It is a wonder that dd has made it to her teen years without me breaking her in some way LOL. I, too, would hate to be under a microscope when parenting. When she was a newborn, I tripped THREE times in a row and FELL with her over a rug in front of her baby bed. LOL, I got so mad that in my hormonal frustration, I nailed it to the floor :lmao: I then fell off of someone's porch while carrying her when she was a year old. Then, when she was a few days short of being two years old, I picked her up by her arm and dislocated her elbow. I was always afraid that CPS would be called on me for these freak accidents LOL LOL

I think if you put a reality show about your personal life on TV, this is the fallout. You reap what you sow.

The way I heard the story was she almost dropped the baby but managed to hold onto her glass. I don't know if that is true or not because the link doesn't mention it but I'm not putting much stock in it since that would be a headliner.

I tripped and dropped my 3 month old dd on her head- concussion and skull fracture. My kids have "escaped", I've called poison control countless times. So glad I'm not in the spotlight.

From what you're saying, she save the baby AND the glass- good for her!

No, not "good for her" if true. The only reason she didn't drop the baby was because a bodyguard reacted quickly to help her. Isn't it an insctinctive reaction to use both hands to grab whatever you're dropping?

If I trip, guaranteed I am not going to have enough time to drop one thing and grab the other with both hands. It happens way too quick for that.

I just love the attitude about her being famous and deserving this type of attention because of that fame. Just because she's famous doesn't mean she deserves to be painted as a bad mother.

I think people need to worry more about their own parenting than Britney Spears'.

I agree putting the baby in her lap was a stupid mistake but in her defense she was being chased by photographers. Being chased by people you don't know with a newborn would scare the heck out of me and she probably wasn't thinking straight. She wanted to get her baby out of there. The baby facing forward is a new trend. Some people think it is safer. Maybe she agrees with that theory. She made a few mistakes. We all have. I've looked back at my kids and realized the carseat had been unbuckled. It is a mistake and a very bad one to make but I wouldn't want to be critisized over it. I am my worst critic I wouldn't need the medias help. I think the media wants to imply she was drinking alcohol, but if they knew she was they would have said that she was drinking.

I think they should leave all celebrities alone when they're with their children. The kids didn't ask to be born to someone famous - leave them alone. They'll either get along just fine, or they won't - it's none of anyone's business. ;)

Now you are just talking sense! Cut that out - you'll spoil everyone's fun! :teeth:

Remember when we just had to worry about what our MIL's were saying about our parenting skills...... I can only imagine what would happen to me if my MIL had a video camera and a media outlet!!! :rotfl2:

I am with you on the give her a break thing. The only reason we are seeing all her mishaps is because the photographers stalk her. My mom actually dropped me on my head when she was pregnant with my brother. And no she was not carrying anything else in her hand at the time. She stumbled over the curb. Accidents happen even to the moms who think they are perfect and even when you are carrying your baby with both hands. Here is the video and yes I think she could have managed to hold on to him even without her body guards help. http://tmz.aol.com/article2/_a/exclusive-video-britneys-stumble/20060519111009990001

oh my goodness---I seriously stumble like that ALL the time. I have an ankle that with no notice and for no reason--will just wobble and give.

I guess they should take away my mommy license. As it could happen while holding one of my kids.

:rotfl: Can I see your license and registration for those kids please?!

My mom dropped my brother when she slipped on an icy step. I got out of the house at age 3 and walked to the beach. We lived in Cocoa Beach and the beach was just across a sandy road it all happened in just a few minutes.
I don't even want to list all of the things that have accidentally happened to my kids.

I watched the video...sheesh, she stumbled and recovered. He didn't even almost fall, she almost fell. She never let go of him for a second, nor did she NEED assistance at all. I would have held onto whatever I was holding too, natural reaction.

I agree that celebrities are under the looking glass because of their fame, but at this point they seem to be on a witch hunt watching every move she makes with her baby. It's beyond ridiculous.

I agree with gg that the children should be off limits.

No PAW--you don't understand. World consensus is that everyone will not have the NATURAL reaction--that they will immediatley like momma bear protect infant, despite what their nervous system and reaction time allow to happen.

Poor girl. The celebrity "you asked for it" ship has sailed!

These people are being vultures and they should just leave her alone.
