Leave a Legacy tile at EPCOT?

Can anyone tell me what the Leave a Legacy tiles are at EPCOT? We have an option to have up to 2 images displayed on one of these tiles for free with our vacation package. I have no idea what this is, and we need to decide between this and free park mini golf. Thanks!!

When you walk into epcot there are these big marble pillar things (for lack of a better decription) They are before Spaceship Earth. On them are metal plates that have people's photos etched into them.

You have your picture taken, or choose a phrase to have left on your tile -- I think they give you a copy and a certificate of where it is. Then they will send the whole plate out to be etched (each plate has many many photos) and it is put up onto the pillar. The photo themselves are about 1 or 1.5 in square. On future trips you can look up your tile and go and find it.

It is similar in idea to the walkway tiles they used to sell at MK and around the walkway from the Grand to the Contemporary.

We have a couple tiles there, my daughter and son, my wife and myself, from our '99 trip. I always make a point of it to stop by to see them when I visit, always neat. A nice idea.

We had ours done in December and received a sample of our images in the mail in January. We can't wait to go back and look ours up

On everything you read it talks about it not being a permanent exhibit.

It is guaranteed that the tiles will be displayed for a minimum of 20 years, dating back to late '99.

And this year if you have an Annaul Pass the tiles are buy one get one free.
I'm going to do my picture with my daughter on one and then our names and date on the other one. I saw alot of them like this when I was looking last time and thought how cool but wow alot of money for your name to be there too....but the DIsney Gods must of heard me and made the Buy one get one free deal this year for me. Or maybe its because I now am a DVC member and will be going to WDW until I'm 88. Wow thats a long time.

I hope alot of DISers are putting their picture on the tiles for all of the world to see.
