I agree with the OP... I don't have a problem with the idea of the Legacy tiles, but the placement of them. It used to be a beautiful entrance, lots of flowers, etc. but now it really does look like some kind of memorial.

That's exactly it! It does remind me of a cemetary. Geez, not a great thought when entering Disney. Who was the brainchild behind this?

I have one, but only because it used to be one of the freebies when you booked a Disney package through Disney. I don't know if I'd have paid for it.

I like the idea. So many places do similar things these days. I don't remember the "old feel" to the opening so I can't comment on that.

If they decide to move them, they can put them near the Haunted Mansion...

Hey! I'd LOVE that! How much was it that tombstone outside HM went for at auction? Wasn't it around $50k? That would make my tile a bargain!

I do not really care for them. My parents bought one for our family at MK and I show my DH and kids our brick. they thick it is so cool. I wish that they would do another brick kind of thing. I also have a beick at Centennial Olympic park in Atlanta. Kindof special. . .

How much do those walkway tiles cost?

So it is as if the Disney company is selling you about half a square foot of land for about the same number of dollars as the company paid for half an acre of land back in the 1960's? (about 5 mil. for about 27,400 acres or $180. per acre)

I'm guessing that each of those metal tiles in Leave a Legacy corresponds to less than one square inch of ground space.
