I always pack my leatherman tool in my checked luggage to handle emergency repairs with no problems. But Disney has a no knife rule (understandable) and the leatherman includes a 2.5 inch fold out blade as one of it's many tools.

In case you don't know what I mean by a Leatherman tool here is a photo

Has anyone else taken such a tool on board? Did Disney object?

Disney will not let it on board. If it is your checked luggage then your luggage will be held and you will have to come down, take it out and then collect your luggage without it. They will hold it at the port fo ryou and give it back on your way out. Better to leave it at home.

Hi

Are you flight home after the Cruise? If so, the airport, at xray, they will take it out and they won't give it back to you!

I think better leave it at home. I know it is great to have it but!!

As my friend gave me the gun with the popper (confetti), I thought how amazing and I will take it to Spain on September for my friend will be 40th and there will be 7 of us but my sister in law horrifed to hearing that and she said better leave it at home as what happen if airport think it is gun!! Damn, I want to take it and it will be great for party. Never mind.

Being on the repo cruise I do not know how you could even get it back. My in laws had a cheese knife (one of those sliding things, not even a real balde) in their luggage a couple years ago (leftover from using it at the resorts) and their luggage came with a note that it had been confiscated and would be held at the port until our return. It was easy enough in that case to stop at the port authority desk on the way out and get it, but that won't be an option for you (because it is not held on the ship, but at the port). I think it is best to leave it at home. It was hard for DH to learn to travel without a pocket knife himself, but in this post 9/11 world that is the reality.

I've even had a corkscrew taken because the little 'blade' it had on it (to cut the foil) - better to leave home and take a small plier and screwdriver (which we take in case of eyeglass screws that pop out or zippers that need to be fixed)
