LEAST wet ride

My family is going down in early November, the weather should be nice..we are not much into water rides, but I'd like to do at least 1. So...what do you think is the water ride (in 4 main parks, not at a water park) where you get the LEAST wet???

Splash Mountain. You get splashed, but not soaked and it's so much fun.

If you don't like getting wet DO NOT go on the Kali River Rapids at the Animal Kingdom. If your sitting in the wrong spot (or the right one depending on how you look at it) you will get completely soaked. It's a fun ride, but it can make walking around the park afterwards very uncomfortable.

We have never got more than sprinkled on Splash Mountain.

Be careful of the camel by Aladdin's Magic Carpets. . . they spit!

Small world. I've never gotten wet on that one.
The boat ride in the land. Never got wet on that one either.
The boat ride in Mexico in Epcot. Never got wet there.
Never got wet on the Jungle cruise either.
Never gotten wet on the Tom Sawyer boats or the big boat in Liberty square either.
POTC isn't all that wet either.
Maelstrom, I got sprinkled on. But it dried off during the movie.
Splash isn't all that wet except for that odd occasion you're on the side with the little waterfall and you drift into it. Most of the time, you don't.
Kali is one where if you're on the downriver side of the boat at the right time, you get soaked. You can also get soaked by taunting the folks putting their quarters in to spray someone. Of course they always miss us despite the taunting.
Beware the Flying carpets. Not a water ride, but it will spit at you.
Beware the totem poles in Adventureland. They spit too.

That's only cuz you haven't dunked your hand into the water for a refreshing drink like most people do. You can get quite wet unless you use a straw.

although it is true that you don't get too wet on Splash Mt, I would like to make this suggestion.

Please check out the seat before you actually sit down. We were in MK two weeks ago and the weather was iffy. It was about 60s and sunny but a little breezy.

I hopped in the ride with DD right next to me and we both sat in a puddle. The ride was not that busy so I don't know if the "log" had not been full of riders when it went down last becuase our row had standing water in it. Didn't bother me too much but DD had to wear wet pants for a little bit. (unfortunately we did not have an extra set of pants...didn't plan on getting that wet)

just a little suggestion.

Also, when were at MK last year the weather was hot. We noticed that every third log down the drop spouted a HUGE spray of water, most of which landed on the bridge(and in the log I would assume) ......this year, same time of year but not as warm there were no big sprays when the ride went down the drop. Do they plan big splashes for WARMER days by chance ?

I have gotten soaked on Splash Mountain, well my top half anyhow. Hair completely drenched. I was up the front though. The poster that mentioned the wet seats, oh yes those are not pleasant (that and the smell!) I would say that it was still nothing compared to the soaking you get on Kali, I am a water magnet on that one.

wdwoldtimer made me think of the Simpsons episode when Bart dared Lisa to drink out of the water in a ride (it was very obviously a take on It's a Small World) she started hallucinating and got very sick...which kind of goes without saying. Perhaps if she had used a straw as wdwoldtimer recommends....

Splash Mountain is a blast and you can get little wet sometimes! If you sit in the back of the boat your less likely to get wet. I too sat in front once and got soaked but, this is my favorite ride and to me not to be missed. :thumbsup2

I hate getting wet. My family calls me hydrophobic but I will go on splash and you can get very wet on it at times. I just put my rain poncho on! Make sure you pull it down and sit on it like others say. Went on in Dec. once and used this method and was fine. I wear my rain gear on Kali also because on this ride I always get drenched it seems.

I got soaked to the skin on Splash Mountain in January!! It was barely 70 degrees, and a bit of a breeze and not super sunny. When one log goes down the "Big Drop", it can make a splash that lands on other logs. Lucky me, Disney had the "splash" turned on. I was sitting in the last seat in our log, and when another log went down the big drop - the splash landed right on me and I got absolutely soaked!!!!!! After getting off, I clearly was not drying in the sun as it was not that warm outside, and I was getting more and more uncomfortable in my wet clothes. I almost had to buy a t-shirt, but remember I packed an extra in my backpack, and thank goodness I did, or I would have been out over $20 for a dry shirt!!!

So even in cooler months, some CM's with a wicked sense of humor may have those extra splashes on! Getting wet on Splash Mountain is always a very real possibility!!!!!!! :teeth:

We've found that the weather plays a big factor in the "splash" of Splash Mountain. The wettest we ever got was after the big drop and the ride was almost over. We went around the bend and waited to go past the riverboat. In June, every time another boat went over the hill, we got squirted by a water gun. At other times of the year, when it might be colder, the water gun was totally turned off.

Because we hate getting wet at themeparks, we have never been on Kali River Rapids.

If you really want to enjoy the water rides without getting wet...
We buy the cheap ponchos at the dollar store or Walmart before the trip and have worn them on both Splash and Kali... our ponchos get drenched but we come out dry!

I vote for ponchos for Splash and Kali, where I've gotten drenched in the past. No worries in Norway and there really aren't any other boat rides where you do anything but glide along. However, November weather is plenty warm enough to be comfortable even if you do get wet.

I've managed to get completely soaked on the Jungle Cruise ... now, keep in mind, it was a rather rainy day at the time ;)

Splash Mountain is very enjoyable and yes you may get sprinkled BUT if the weather is hot or even warmer than usual they might add that extra "splash" which made us completely soaked in August.

Kali you will get very wet and I was the lucky one who got SOAKED!!! It was August and it was sooooo much fun!

Good Luck and hope you stay dry pixiedust:

I guess I was thinking about Kali and if its so terrible, which - I guess it is! So thats out for me at least. Maybe get FP for Splash and do at end of day before leaving, so if we are wet can go and change. I like the poncho idea too, and extra shirt. Is Maelstrom a log ride like Splash or more roller-coaster-y??

Don't assume you won't get soaked on SM. They fixed the water cannons and if you happen to be in the wrong place when a log goes down the hill you WILL get soaked. The cannons were firing last week even when it was kind of chilly.

In Maelstrom you're in a big boat and you just kind of float along through different Norway scenes. There may be one very short drop, but it's not like a roller-coaster at all and doesn't even compare to Splash Mountain.

I too hate getting wet on rides. Not for the fact of getting wet, I don't like walking around in wet clothes. This has never stopped me from going on a flume ride or even Kali though.

If you don't want to get wet, wear your poncho. Just make sure you are sitting on it and if possible try to cover your legs. I went on Kali wearing my poncho and came off bone dry. I was also the one going backwards into the waves! But I got my revenge. I sprayed a lot of people after. What a great feature! :teeth:

Another tip. On Splash Mountain, try to sit in the back. I always request the back and never had a problem. This also really works out well if children sit in the front. Then you have almost no chance of getting wet. And same as before, just wear your poncho if you want. Those ponchos really come in handy.
