Least "dark" rides at Fantasyland?

DD4 is okay with rides that occur in darkness - i.e. Peter Pan - but would NOT want to ride anything that is dark/scary - I.e. Snow White, Mr. Toad's

What would be a safe bet - other than Dumbo and Tea Cups? Thanks!

I'd say Teacups, Casey Junior, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Dumbo, It's a small world and the canal boats.

They've been mentioned, but truly, don't miss the Storybook Land boats! They're delightful and completely un-scary.

^^ Agreed. One note: There's one scene in Alice where the Queen yells "Off with their heads!" That might frighten someone who scares easily. That said, the majority of the ride is just cute.

On our last visit the CM at Storybook Land said she had a young child on her last ride that was hysterical with fear over the idea of going into the whale...so maybe show your dd that first and explain that it's not real before trying that ride. Nothing dark or scary after that part though.

It's not in Fantasyland, but I would think Winnie the Pooh should be okay...

Bad would probably be Mr. toads, Snow White, and even Pinnochio . Also, the castle walk thru freaked my ds out when he was 3, to the point of almost ruining the day. He's not easily scared, either. As pp said, going into the whale's mouth on the boats can be freaky, too.

The rest should be great! And, you may be able to warm her up to those. Ds is now 4 and not scared of any of the rides.

Agree on avoiding the castle walk through. I love it but a made a comment to a friend recently along the lines of "You know...this would become really creepy if you had to stay in here for an extended amount of time." Definitely avoid Snow White, Mr. Toad, and Pinocchio.

This is great - thanks! I have never had a chance to ride Alice - so good to know that it is a cute/dark ride, not a spooky/dark one. Kind of funny there are quite a few scary rides in Fantasyland!

The FL rides are based on some pretty darned dark movies! So it only makes sense that the rides are scary as well.

My niece Sue was freaked out by Alice, which led to her freaking out on any ride that was dark. Her mom figures that if they'd started on something friendlier, like Small World, then Sue would have realized it's o.k. to go on dark rides.

Starting her on It's a Small World would be a great idea. There are also the other ones kids like: Disneyland Railroad, Mark Twain, horse buggy on Main Street, Tarzan's treehouse (it's an adventure for them), Tom Sawyer's Island...
