Least crowded time of year?

What would you say is the least crowded time to visit? We've only been in mid-August and at Thanksgiving. We had EP so the lines weren't an issue, but the HP areas were so packed with people that we couldn't enjoy them as we'd like to. I'd love to just walk around and enjoy the theming without it being wall to wall people. Any suggestions?

I’d say, last week of August, but not Labor Day weekend start. First 2 weeks in January, starting the 2nd, and probably most of that month. Those dates I would say, and maybe September week days, after Labor Day week, particularly in the morning hours.

My favorite time of year is January! On weekdays there are no crowds and the weather is awesome usually. The parks are much more enjoyable without all the people and only 72 degrees! As long as you avoid the holidays of Martin Luther King and President's Day then January/February is a great time to go.

My favorite time of year is January! On weekdays there are no crowds and the weather is awesome usually. The parks are much more enjoyable without all the people and only 72 degrees! As long as you avoid the holidays of Martin Luther King and President's Day then January/February is a great time to go.

This was our go-to time of year to visit for many years (when the kids weren't too old so that missing some school wasn't that big a deal). Indeed the parks were great to tour with low crowds.

But weather can be a mixed bag. Some days we could get temps in the low 80s so still nice to swim and whatnot. But there were also days with some cold spells where the temps were low 40s. Sunshine was consistent so if you don't mind packing for both temperature possibilities it is truly an awesome time to go.
