We are looking to book our first Fort trip in our new camper!:cool1:We must go during the summer because I am a teacher and dont get out of school till mid June, and the 4 kids are in school...My college student leaves the beginning of August...If you must book during the summer, when is the least crowded time to go?:confused3

Summer never really. All of summer is busy. Have you looked at touringplans they have a crowd calender that is pretty accurate to the crowd levels. We have gone during the summer and their are lines but it is still managable. Now us going at christmas will be the fun challange. Though this yr its a fort only trip. Next yr we will do the parks.

We went this past June, the last full week of June in fact, and it wasn't nearly as crowded as I expected. We were still able to do a lot of the rides, though fastpasses were more important than they are at our usual time (end of Nov/early Dec.) I haven't been in July, but I will say the end of June was totally doable!

amberlynn,

I agree with the others.

Spring (after Easter) is a slow time until mid-June. Then it picks up at the theme parks crowd wise. The Fort is not as crowded.

The weather becomes hotter and wetter as the summer progresses. If you look at my signature you can see I avoid this time religously but I realize others like yourself are locked into certain travel periods.

If I had to pick a time in your window it would be as soon as you could get there in June.

Good luck! :wizard:

Also a teacher so I have to go in the summers too. My preference is to push it as late as possible, because July is the big travel month for the tour groups and they tend to make things more crowded (in surges) and fast pass to not always work as planned. However, once it gets to be late June, it's just hot no matter what. If you are back to school later in August, you will find most of the southern schools go back early August, so it will slow down towards the end of the month.

I was there mid-July this summer, and we had hot hot weather with daily rain, but manageable crowds if you plan. (Go early, get out mid-day, swim, etc. and go back in evening).
