Hello all. Planning my August Fastpass for next week. Was wondering which days of the week typically see a lower crowd at MK? I've been reading conflicting information. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks

Thanks for your response. I had read that as well but have been hearing Sunday would be less crowded. I am scheduled for PPO breakfast at BOG Thursday 8/18 and considering Early Morning Magic for Tuesday 8/16. Thanks again for your help

My understanding is that Sunday is actually a very busy day EXCEPT during party season - Sept to Christmas. Maybe that's where you see the conflicting info?

I would check on easywdw to see about your specific dates. I've found his calendar to be very accurate.

We found rope drop Saturday morning to be pretty empty in late August. I think it's a travel day for many people. I'd avoid Saturday afternoon though.

I've noticed weekends are always busy because you have people arriving, people trying to squeeze in a last park day before leaving at night, and the locals. People have told me horror stories about Mondays (since everyone arriving on Sundays wants to start with the magic of the Magic Kingdom to kick off their trip), but I've never noticed a marked increase. The most horrific day we've ever had was a Wednesday - wall to wall people in October and nearly closed to capacity - I still don't know why it was so packed then. October is crowded, but that particular day was worse than ever.

I would definately do the early morning magic hour. imho, it's worth the 3 rides without lines, and you're set up in Fantasyland to hit any of the other rides early before the crowds!
We've done BOG and got 2 rides on 7DMT, 2 on BTMRR, and did Splash, all with either no wait or less than 10 minutes waits. That was awesome.

Yeah we haven't seen it with low crowds like we used to 10 years ago or so. It just all changed. We used to have the park to ourselves when we'd go shortly after school started back. It's almost hard to tell the difference anymore.

Wow. Thanks for all your help! I think I'm going to stick with my Tuesday EMM and Thursday PPO BOG and hope for the best. I'm trying to beat the summer lines and afternoon heat as much as possible. You guys are awesome. Thanks again.

Late 2008. I think that was the last time it wasn't crowded.

Yes!We went the week of Labor Day in 2008 when my daughter was 6 months old. I remember sitting while my daughter napped in her coach in a near empty Tomorrowland while my husband and older boys went on Buzz over and over because there was no one there. I always reference that time when looking back over the change in crowds over the years. lol

Does anyone know the percentage difference in crowd level by day?

What I mean is: I don't doubt that you guys are right and there are more people at MK on Sunday than Tuesday. But if Sunday has 27,000 and Tuesday has 26,000....does it really matter? Because in my trips we go to MK every single day and I've never said to myself "today is noticeably slower/heavier than yesterday".

I generally go to the MK on Tuesdays and Friday's. I would check the crowd planners though, because they can help you choose your best park on any given day. The beginning of August is busier than the end, but you still should consult the planning calendars, IMO.

IMO the calendars will be off this summer with AK evenings and HS starwars. These parks offer more than last summer. For is AK was one day. Now we are making it two ( part half days with Water parks) the evening AK hrs really gives us more options to spread things out. Also assume many with hoppers did AK am then MK night just because AK was closed.
