I'm taking my DGS 9 to the World in August. We will be there for four days and plan to spend one day at MK and Epcot, hopping. Which day would be the best, a Sunday or Monday? I remember reading somewhere which days are the best but I don't know where I read that. TIA

Hi,

In general, weekends are more crowded than weekdays.

Thanks for the prompt reply. We'll have to go on a Sunday or a Monday becuase we are flying back home on Tuesday. I was hoping Sunday would be the least crowded becuase that would give us a down day on Monday before returning home on Tuesday.

What days of the month will you be there?

If you're trying to avoid crowds, a general rule is to go to a park the day after it has an evening EMH. MK has evening EMH's on Friday 8/3, Sunday 8/5, Friday 8/10, Sunday 8/12, Friday 8/17, Sunday 8/19 and Sunday 8/26. So IMHO MK would be good for Saturday 8/4, Monday 8/6, Saturday 8/11, Monday 8/13, Saturday 8/18, Monday 8/20 and Monday 8/27. I'd shoot for one of those days if possible.

I've been to MK on both days. Unfortunately, never in August though. Monday was less crowded by far, but Sunday was manegable. If you use fp, you can get all you want done. We went in December and in May. Make sure to get to the park at opening so you can get a lot done in the first hour or two while the parks are still filling.

Wed is the best day to gto to MK.

Thanks for all the input. We'll be arriving on the 10th, meeting some people for activities on the 11th, and can go to the parks on either the 12th or 13th and flying back on the 14th. I just wanted to maximize the time in the parks (probably MK and Epcot) since we'll just be doing one day and we'll have hoppers.

Both days are traditionally busy days for Epcot and MK, according to the experts. Monday's are MK's busiest day of the week, historically. Sundays are much better for MK but is traditionally Epcot's second busiest day of the week. So, it's kinda of a toss up for you except that you will have your GS age 9 with you.

So here is my advice: if you think he would enjoy his time at MK more than EPCOT - go on SUNDAY. If you think he would enjoy Epcot more than MK then go to the parks on MONDAY.

That's all I have to say about thaaat.

That's excellent! Thanks for that information. It helps me arrive much closer to a decision. I appreciate it!

Monday is FL day at Magic Kingdom and that park gets really busy.....
I would try a different park on a Monday.
