Hiya
Does anyone have the link for the website that tells you the least busiests days in ALL the parks?
I am a subscriber to Tour Guide Mike, but he only gives you the Disney park info. Someone on the Sunday night chat gave me a great link that included the univessal parks, but i dodnt bookmark it :guilty:
Thanks , as ever, for your fantastic help!!

There is this one http://www.venesstravelmedia.com/id74.html
This is from the authors of the Brits guide and i've used it before fairly succesfully.
I may e mail them to tell them there is a mistake in it for April. They have US down as least busy and medium busy for Wednesdays...

Hi Rosie, thanks for the link!
Do you know whether they release other dayes as time goes on?
My trip is in August and they only seem to go up until June?
Thanks,
Jo x

When are you going in August Jo?

You will generally find from around the middle of the month ALL parks are quieter, that is when a good percentage of the US schools return from their summer holiday.

Personally at Universal, I don't think there is a significant difference in midweek, say between a Tuesday and a Thursday.

They're away on assignment and out of email contact at the moment, so don't think they're ignoring you if you don't get an immediate response. :)

Yes, they'll add further dates as they get closer.

Hi Johnny,
We arent going until the 25th (tll Sep 4th), which I know is generally quieter, as the US schools have mainly gone back, and we have been the same sort of time beofre.
Howeverer, I am an inifinite organsier, and I want to try to make sure we can get the most out of everyday by avoiding the mainstream or "them" as TGM calls them (god listen to me!)
We are tackling the parks at Easter too, which is the complete opposite crowd wise!! :scared1:

Hi Jo,

We go on the 22nd :)

I understand what you mean, planning is part of the fun, I suppose I am being kind of blase as we tend to always get to parks early and have a disabled Guest Assistance Card which does help when it's busy.
I honestly don't think day to day late in August there will be any real significant crowd difference at Universal day-to-day, though weekend's tend to be busier.

Easter is a different matter when for 3 or 4 days last year, when we were there, it was packed everywhere.

Ahh, wish we could go on the 22nd too!! My husband is off work, but I am working right up until the 24th at 3.30am nightshift... I get as many days as I can out of my hoidays! sod the tiredness! lol
We are there on our Easter trip from 21st March, which seems to be a good week, slotting in between the spring break and the Easter crowns, so hoping to get lots of parks in on the first week, and with TGM help just do bits of the park on the 2nd week... hopefully if we get some nice weather we can have a few relaxing pool days too!

Weather at Easter last year was perfect, low 80s and a nice breeze, weather in August this year will not be perfect, 100s and no breeze!

That's school holidays for you. :)

Bit OT, but be aware that UK schools may be going back earlier this year (if you have any kids in school) after summer - we're changing to the 'standardised year'; meaning holidays are all at the same time, and 'Easter holidays' may not actually include Easter (ours doesnt!).

Because of all this we are back for our first inset on the 31st August!!!:scared1:

Just letting you know in case you need to take your kids out of school at the start of Sept :)

:goodvibes

I think it depends on the county you live in Luke. Julie is a teacher but they don't go back until the around the 6th I think.
We 'took advantage' of a slight price drop late in August, ideally would have preffered to have gone earlier but just tried to cut a few corners on what is already a crazy price overall.

Yeh I know luke, i discovered ours go back on the Wednesday before we come home... ooops!
To be honest I work shifts for a National ewspaper, and my husband also does shifts and our holidays are on a strict rotation. SO we both did our best to get as close to the school holidays as possible, and this was the only option. i'm sure at the ages of 7 and 5 its not going to do them any long term harm to miss 3 days.
Ours go to a catholic school, and Easter I have been told ,will always be within the holdiays. But time will tell I suppose!
Anyway, thanks for the advice! x

Johnny we have been at all dfferent times of year (worked it out, literally been every month of the year) and 1 thing I can honestly say is the weather is unpredictable, I know August will be hot, but last August trip we had, it stormed for a week with hurricane Faye!!
My sister is over there now, and has been down to the keys for a few days, it was 55 there!!
Last time we were there march/april it was lovely in the days/nippy at night, which suits me fine! fingers crossed xx

True, depends on when Easter falls, February and March can be "unpredictable" as you say, it was very much like that in 2005 the only time we have been that early in the year.

I went in January once, it was freezing... they all laughed at me for bringing my UGGs but I was the one laughing in the end! hahaha :rotfl:

Hi Johnny, we've been many times but only ever had a GAC for Disney parks, is it possible to get one for Universal parks too, any info gratefully received. We usually go at Easter when its busy but this year we're going in August and hopefully it may be a bit quieter but much hotter.

Jo - we had a guide from Undercover Tourist about which days were the busiest in the parks

Hi,

Yes you can in the same way you get one at Disney, from Guest Services just inside the park - either at Universal Studios or Islands Of Adventure.

The only downside is unlike for the WDW parks, you have to apply for one each visit at Universal, so it's only valid for 1 day each time you go.
It is also more of an 'express pass' than a Guest Assistance Card, in theory you use it the same, although you may need to explain to the CM's at the rides that it is related to a disability.

Thanks so much, do you have to provide info everytime you visit during your holiday or can you just show the GAC from your previous visit at Guest Relations to get a new one

They should hold the information based upon your first visit, so when you go again it should be simpler and they merely give you a different pass.
