I know.....I may be slow on the uptake, but today I just learned the meaning of "Ohana", so I thought I would share its great sentiment.

I've only been on DIS for like 2 months and honestly feel this truely speaks of so many people here on DIS, even the BLACK SHEEP!

ohana: family. This does not exclusively pertain to blood relations. In Hawaiian culture there are several layers of family. There is a strong sense of community among the people.

LOL, I understand completely what you mean by black sheep. SO and I aren't married and will never be... some of the girls at work thinks that is just WRONG. But I have said to myself many times, he, myself and my daughter have a stronger bond and a happier family than many of the married couples I see everyday. We are a Ohana!

MY DD loves Lilo and Stitch and she informed our waiter at ohana what it meant before he could tell us - LOL
