Leapster Lmax question

I asked this on the CB but I think I should have asked here instead!

If you have purchased the new Leapster LMAX, what do you think of it? My daughter has the Leapster and she loves it but I have seen the new Leapster LMAX which has new games and you can hook it to the tv. I noticed that the screen is a little smaller on the LMAX than it is on the regular leapster. Is the resolution better? Is the LMAX itself better than the original leapster?

I'll bump, this is what dd is getting for christmas this year we think, but I don't know a thing about the differences.

I dont know the specifications, but to my eye it appears the L-max definitely has a better resolution. As far as the games, I think most are compatible with both the Leapster and L-Max. For some of the L-max games, I read that there are bonus rounds or features that are only available when the game is connected to the tv, so you would lose that when using the game on the Leapster.

My daughter plays them both at Toys R Us all the time and likes the L-max better, so we bought that one for her for Christmas. I think the main reason is that she can view the screen on the tv which makes it much easier to see. Yet, she still has the option of a portable game to take with her.

I got the L-Max at Toys R Us with the 20% friends and family coupon combined with the $5 off $25, so it cost me $75. That is only $25 more than the going price for the Leapster so I thought it was worth it.

Also, KMart has the L-Max on sale this week for $89.99.

One more thing, I read in a forum that you should buy a screen protector similar to the ones you would put on a pda. Otherwise, the pen can scratch the screen up pretty bad.

Renda460, can you tell me more about this screen protector? I bought my son an L-Max for Christmas but I know NOTHING about PDAs and screen protectors and such.
