Well, I found the Leapster at Wal-Mart with the bag and the Letterpillar game for $50. Any suggestions for good games to go with it for a four year old?

Our ds now almost 5 has played with Leapster for the last 2 years or so. I find it educational as he has learned more from it than anywhere else (sad really). He has almost if not all the Pre-K games, even some of the LMax versions. He gets hooked on one for awhile, then changes them around until hes hooked on another. His favs seem to be the Letters on the Loose, Numbers on the Loose, the built in game. DD wants to be like her big brother and at 15 mos figured out how to turn it on. Guess she will be getting her own soon! I did pick up the Princess game for her to use down the road.

My DD5 loves her Leapster. Between me and the GPs she has collected about 8 cartridges and loves them all. There are a lot of cartridges for Pre-School-K: Dora, Nemo, Backyardigans, Letter Factory and Princess are great beginning cartridges. The handheld has a few games that are also fun.

I love the Leapster. We let her play it for a short while each day (usually on the potty) plus in the car (airplane etc). When she first got it last Christmas, it really helped her with her letters. She's moved up to the more advanced games and is loving the math-based games, but still loves playing the "younger" cartridges, too.

I say Leapster is worth the investment.

Both my kids have the Leapster, son got his when he was 4 and daughter was almost 3 when she got hers as a gift from grandma, she really likes the Backyardigans game.
