Anyone have the farm version or alphabet version and like them? I've heard good reviews but would like some first hand advice. I babysit twin 10 month old boys and thought they would be getting to an age where they would enjoy these.

I like them but the letters are soooo easy to lose. Kind of like socks in the wash. They just disappear to never be seen again.

The kids LOVE them!! As long as you have a system to not lose any letters....then it is an excellent toy. :)

My 3 year old has the alphabet one. He LOVES it. He learned his alphabet by playing it. And this is quite an accomplishment for him because he has been in Speech Therapy for a year. We love all Leapfrog toys, they have really helped both of my boys a lot.

We have the ABCs and the farm one - love both - have gotten lots of use out of both. Highly recommend!!!
Jenny :)

We have both of them too, and my DS 2 loves them. It occupies him while I am trying to cook dinner! I think it helped him learn his ABC's very early too!!!! :thumbsup2

We have the alphabet... but not a complete set. :rotfl: It's nice, especially the volume control. I think some letters are hard to understand, like X.

I've heard of people calling the manufacturer and requesting replacement pieces.

My first son loved the alphabet, it was passed to my nephew, and then back again. My second son could care less about it................but it is durable. Been through three little boys now.

DS, 21 months, received the Fridge Farm for Christmas last year and really enjoys it. Up until a few months ago he couldn't really get the pieces in so he'd just push the frog button and dance to the music. Now he matches the animal pieces and puts them in correctly.

Love them, Love them, Love them!

We had the original alphabet one when the twins were 2 or 3. We did lose some letters, but when they turned 4 we got the Word Whammer...which is just like the alphabet one, but it reads 3 letter (cvc pattern) words. The best thing is it comes with the alphabet and has extra letters too. So now we have multiple letters. I love them. Those magnets really stick and don't fall off like most alphabet magnets. And we still use them to this day to form words for homework!

We are a Leapfrog lovin' family! :thumbsup2 DS loves his magna-alphabet as well as Alphabet Pal (which looks like a caterpillar and had all the letters on his shoes). :) We like the Alphabet Pal better than the magnets because it's harder to lose AP. :rotfl2

We have the farm one and DD loves it!!! I plan to get her the ABC one for Christmas.

I've known 2 families with the alphabet one and both were faulty. Some didn't work and others said the wrong letter for about 1/4 of the letters. The kids all really like them but it's not teaching them much if they hear that the shape of 'N' makes the sound of "B".
