Le Cellier Steakhouse goes to all day menu

Now that lunch will also be 2 dining entitlements I'm done with Le Cellier. I like it but it never was worth 2 entitlements for dinner. No big loss, there are plenty of other places to eat.

I'm pretty ticked since I have a lunch reservation for 1/24. Want to bet I don't have a lot of choices if I want to cancel and get a reservation at a different place at this late date?

Since it's a Thursday in late January (which also happens to be my arrival day), I suspect you will find plenty of availability at the Epcot restaurants. Go for it.

Places that serve steak and cream cheese mashed potatoes? Do tell! I'm all ears.

I booked Le Cellier based on the menu that was offered at the time I booked. Is this change going to ruin my trip? Of course not but unless the new menu is the right combination of the old lunch and dinner menus, one of my children is going to be very disappointed as this has always been her favorite. She'll survive but she'll be bummed.

I haven't cancelled yet because Disney has updated their own website with the new menu.

Without the prix fixe option and the burger, looks like I'll be canceling my reservation for 5 in May.... very sad. I remember when the "free dining" first came out and it was such a huge bargain (appetizer, entree, dessert &tip), now it seems to be ruining everything.

I'm glad we got in for lunch while we were at WDW in December. We would do lunch so we had the option of the burger for those who are not that fond of steak. Now that that is gone, we will pass on Le Ceiller.

I'm hoping that someone who's down there this week will post pics of the new all-day menu.

I have a lunch ADR next Thursday as I've never been able to get in before and it's always been on my to-do list. We're on the DxDP so the fact that it's 2 TS credits isn't a huge issue, I just don't want to waste the credits, if the choices are really limited.

I'll be at WDW on Saturday but I don't know if I'll get to Epcot. Someone like Disney Food Blog may have the menu before then.

I would think it will resemble the dinner menu far more than the lunch menu. The Disney Parks Blog referenced too much lobster and egg for me (don't like either and I hate it when they put a poached egg in a salad) so I would be interested in seeing what else they have.

Even if the cream cheese mashed potatoes isn't served with the particular steak you want, you can sub. I've never had an issue subbing them for the risotto on the mushroom filet. They are still on the menu. I think they are pretty good at letting you sub. Even did this when it was two credits.

I am so bummed about this. I tried the burger(my sons) for the first time this past November and I loved it!! I liked it even more than my mushroom filet!!

I agree, the burger is fantastic, my son would eat my fries with his filet and I would eat the risotto. Will have to go back to the filet w/ risotto, which I enjoy the filet just LOVED the burger more.

Cream cheese mashed potatoes are not on the dinner menu and I'm sure the steak my daughter likes is much larger on the dinner menu.

I know..right? That was one amazing burger!! I would have gotten it instead of the filet next time. It was that good! Can we start a petition to keep the burger?!! :lmao: I'm sure people wouldn't mind paying OOP for it instead of using 2 credits.

I made a lunch reservation after much debating back and forth about dinner vs lunch pricing...and then saw this news 10 minutes later. Bummed out! Hopefully the new menu info is available soon so I can make a decision on whether or not to keep my ADR.

Will the Poutine served "all day" be the lunch version (blech!) or the dinner version (passable, but still a far cry from the real thing)?

That's what I'm wondering. I really want to try the "dinner" version so I hope it is the all-day option. I'll be at LC for lunch a week from tomorrow so I guess I'll find out.

I am not seeing the lobster and mac & cheese on the new menu as previous posters mentioned :confused3:

Have you ever heard they saying "there is no such thing as free lunch"?

The original DDP was a great value...never "free" , but offered a discount for committing to a certain number of sit down meals for a trip.

Then they removed the appetizer, gratuity, and kept the price the same (and then raised it over the years)

Then they start using "free dining" as a means to attract guests at off peak times. This leads to several "unintended consequences". Now, during "free dining " times- even though off season- it becomes impossible to get a PS, and also, to make "free" dining profitable the menus of the restaurants have been downgraded year round.

I've come to the conclusion that the DDP is not really a bargain, just a way of pre paying. Even when "free" you are giving up potential room discounts, etc. I simply don't need two or three desserts per day- even on vacation. I'd rather save money on the room and pay for meals...Example this year we got 30% off at the BC...,now I can have lunch at the brown derby and order the prawn appetizer and a Cobb salad- total about 26 bucks amd a perfectly fine meal, vs 2 ts credits.

If you're looking at the link that was posted earlier, that is not the new menu.

there's no indication the new menu (which is to be released today at the restaurant apparently) will be exactly the same as the former dinner menu. But they may not have less expensive options available like a burger.

I hope they still have my new favorite dessert- Pecan Pie on the rocks. It is amazing. Had it for the first time this past December and was able to snag a last minute ADR for marathon weekend to have it again.

At a quick glance, lunch and dinner seem to be the same.

I'm not happy and will likely cancel my lunch reservation later today.

Mashed potatoes are not listed anywhere. The poutine is the "dinner" poutine.

And yes, it is now going to be the same menu for both lunch and dinner.
