On September 9th, my parents and I were spending our last evening at WDW. We had planned to go to La Cava del Tequila and have some light appetizers, followed by dessert at Kringla Bakery, but....we ended up somewhere much better :thumbsup2

We entered through the International Gateway and as we walked past Le Cellier, I had a craving for Cheese Soup :goodvibes Now, it was 5:10pm and crowds had been very low, but that being said, this is Le Cellier AND Free Dining.

We approached the hostess at the top of the Victoria Gardens entrance and asked if there was any way we could get in for dinner, or if not, get cheese soup to go.

She said that she could fit us in, but it would be about 20 minutes. Fine by us!!

We proceeded down to the lobby and no sooner had we taken a seat to wait..."_____ Family? Party of 3?"

Woah! We walked up to Le Cellier and got a table within 2 minutes! It was unreal. As we proceeded through the restaurant I noticed a 4 top beside the washrooms and the service station and was sure that we would be seated there....

Nope! A lovely booth, very private, in the back corner of the "Northwest Territories"

We had a wonderful meal, and I couldn't help but feel that I had won the Disney Dining Lottery :rotfl:

Wow! Congratulations on your good fortune. Walking in at LeCellier is almost unheard of. I tried it last August and the hostess as well as everyone waiting (in the smallest waiting area known to man) looked at me as if I'd gone stark raving mad.:) Good for you!

We've had success doing this before too. OP, glad you enjoyed your meal.

LOL - I know how you feel. This happened to me at Chef's de France about two years ago.

I have to dispute that Le Cellier is better than La Cava del Tequila :lmao:

At any rate one should always try. I had a reservation at Le Cellier for two for lunch on September 4, they let me in with an extra person within 10 minutes, the restaurant was not in the least crowded.

Congrats!

I was there September 6th - our dinner was at 5:30 - and also saw a party of 2 walk up and get seated right away. I guess it is possible after all. :thumbsup2

Congrats. We ate Lunch on the 8th at 200 and both tables next to us were empty before and during our lunch.

Hi TinkerBelle_325,
CONGRATS! Sounds like the pixie dust was hard at work that day. :wizard: I have read on here a few times recently where someone walked up and was able to get in. I am starting to have faith that one time when I did not plan ahead I will be able to walk in and not be turned away. :yay:

Darn! We were there that night too! We had an ADR at Marrakesh, which was great. But I would have liked to have some steak and cheese soup! It was a great day to be at Epcot!:cool1:
