After seeing many, many reviews of Le Cellier and pictures of the yummy looking Pretzel bread and desserts, I would love to try Le Cellier.

However, our only window would be for lunch not dinner. Is the pretzel bread still served at lunchtime? What are the offerings on the lunch menu like - how do they compare to the dinner choices? And is it stupid to want to go there just to try the Pretzel bread and the yummy desserts?

Yep, they have bread at lunch, the wife and I actually prefer lecelliers lunch menu to their dinner menu.

OK, after seeing the menu and hearing that I can still get the bread, I think this calls for a lunch ADR at Le Cellier :Pinkbounc

This is only based on one experience, but we have dined at Le Cellier 2 times. Once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch, the food was very mediocre, steaks were overcooked and dry. They also seemed like they were trying to rush us in and out of the restuarant. For dinner, the meal was excellent. I am not sure if we just were unlucky on that particular day, or if this is a common occurance with this restuarant.

My DH and I always eat lunch at Le Cellier. I really like the food - especially the pretzel bread and cheddar soup!!. If you can make an ADR for 1p.m. or after. The restaurant seems to quiet down some and you can relax over your meal. Enjoy!! :thumbsup2

We were looking to go about 2ish probably as we're touring FW in the morning.

Can you get the bread without having to have the soup?

Thanks

Yes the bread is served complimentary

I believe they always bring the bread since it gives the server the opportunity to discuss the four regional heritages of Canada. It's a nice little speil and can be a nice discussion lead off with the server.

Our experience with Le Cellier is similar to Disprincess -- We prefer dinner to lunch. The food wasn't bad at lunch, it just wasn't as good. A couple of times we weren't able to get dinner reservations, so we settled for lunch. Still nice, but dinner has always been better. We are steak lovers though. I'm not sure I'd choose Le Cellier for the bread and dessert -- of course, I could never pass up the terrific steak.

As everyone mentioned, yes they serve pretzel breadsticks. If you click on my name to check out my previous posts I did a review of my lunch there back in February (with pics). We didn't feel rushed and thought the food was fabulous and just the right portions for lunch.

We go for lunch and dinner usually each trip. I have to go for lunch because I love steak salad, and they only serve that at lunch. We also go for dinner, just cuz we like it! I'd say go for it for lunch.

I have only been once and it was for lunch. I had the cheese soup and pretzel bread. MMM MMM MMM! :)

We have only had lunch there and LOVED it, the food was great (especially the pretzel bread)! We are actually trying dinner this time in September!

The open faced sirloin steak sandwich is delicious at lunch. Nice and light, not heavy at all.

My son loves the pretzel bread so much that when we go to Le Cellier, that's all he eats. We don't even bother ordering a kids meal for him since he'll just eat the bread. Once we even asked for extra bread to go after the meal and our server was gracious enough to pack us some bread in foil! Now that's service.
