We have an ADR for Le Cellier 7/31 for our family of 5. As I looked through the dining pictures I notice that the serving sizes that are shown for Le Cellier seem very small. My concern is with DH and DS (6'3 and still growing). I want to try it because of the fabulous reviews everyone gives it, but I don't want DH and DS leaving complaining that they are still hungry.
Are the serving sizes large enough for men with large appetites? What would be the best items to direct them toward. Thanks for any input.

I think that if they get an appitizer (the soup is great) they will definitely be full. My family was there in February (16 of us) and everyone was stuffed. This was a highlight of our trip-You will love it. :thumbsup2

We did the dining plan in november and left stuffed!!! I have gone twice now and never left hungry!

The filets are pretty small, but sooo delicious. The NY Strip and prime rib were pretty good sized, and the prime rib was especially good. The NY Strip was just so-so. We were on the dining plan so each got an appetizer, and of course those heavenly breadsticks which come with the meal really fill you up because they're so good it's hard to stop eating them. So yes, I think your guys will be satisfied.

Dh can eat a horse if given the chance, he was very full after our meal here!!! Its an appetizer, breadsticks, mushroom filet, and he declined dessert b/c he as full. I had the soup and the 7oz filet mignon. DD had the chicken tenders for kids.

All the food seems to get good reviews here, so many if he is very hungry point him toward the prime rib or 14oz new york strip. I think if the portions were small the place wouldnt be packed with repeat customers and word would spread that it isnt worth the money. We didnt think they were small at all!

the serving sizes look small because the plates are so big. there'll be plenty of food, trust me.

DH and DS (adult) ate here in October. We all left stuffed. I had the Prime Rib whihc I thought was okay, not great, DH and DS had the 14 oz steak and they were stufffed. DS can eat a horse too, so I think you will be fine.

I will have to agree with an above poster, the plates are very large so do not be discouraged when you see pictures of plates of food from Le Cellier. The entrees are large. :thumbsup2

I read the original post and yelled WHAT? Then told my husband. He and my son can eat forever. Last time my husband and I were at Le Cellier, he had to actually take a break from his meal because he was stuffed. He did finish but cursed me out for the rest of the day. My son loves Le Cellier. You will not be disappointed.

I took home a portion of my dinner, I think it was prime rib. We have booked Le Cellier again for our May trip.

Bobbi :)

It's not a very manly choice, but the Ceaser salad was bgger than my head! It came on a plate at least 15" x 7" and was almost spilling over the edges.

Always enjoyed it there, never been hungry after eating there.

The news about awesome breadsticks is reassuring for ds10 (he is a bread fanatic). Given his choice he would make it a meal.
I feel confident now that dh and ds16 will be satisfied. Also, in reference to the Ceaser Salad my 6'3' ds16 LOVES salads so that is good news.

Don't worry - I think it's impossible to leave Le Cellier hungry! DH and DFIL are big men and big eaters and were both too full for dessert when we went. DH had the Cheddar Cheese Soup, then couldn't resist the soft breadsticks, then had some kind of steak (also 1 beer). He almost had to roll out the door! DFIL loves Caesar Salad, so he had that and the Prime Rib, I think, and was also full. I was disappointed that we had to leave without dessert, but we couldn't eat another bite (even DD).

:sunny:
