Which steakhouse do you like better and why?? We have eaten at Yachtsman and loved it, but are thinking of trying Le Cellier instead. We are staying at an Epcot resort so transportation to either isn't an issue, we just want the one with the better food! :D Thanks

Haven't tried Yachtsman's, but my wife and I liked Le Celliers, I thought it was good, my wife loved it. she loved the cheese soup(I didnt, could taste the beer too much and I hate beer),she also loved the pretzle bread(I didnt like that either, I am picky hehe). I did like the steak however :)

Both are good, but different.

The Yachtsman is a "typical" New England steak house, while Le Cellier is cozy and more intimate feeling.

The Yachtsman IMHO has more polished service...although I've had bad service at both in the past. For a few years the YSH had really declined in food and service, although I'm happy to say it's steadily been going back uphill for the past 18 months or so.

They do have different menus, IMHO the food at Le Cellier is "heartier". I'd take a look at the menu's on Deb's site and see which is more appealing to you to make a decision.

Having just eaten at both of these resturants within 2 days of each other I can tell you we liked them both.

Our meal at LeCellier was top notch. Everything tasted wonderful. The only thing I didn't think was over-the-top best I'd ever had was the beer barley soup (but who orders the beef barely anyway right? What was I thinking?).

Our meal at the Yachtsman was very good. The steak and prime rib were excellant. The salads were good, but a bit strong for us (cesear and baby spinach). The dessert sampler was my favorite of the trip.

We talked about both of these meals after the second resturant (Yachtsman) and decided while we'd definately go to LeCellier again and again, we'd probalby not return to Yachtsman. It was good, but very similar to any good steakhouse anywhere in the country. LeCellier just feels special. Also, the Yachtsman was WAY more expensive then our LeCellier meal. Four people had apps, entres, and shared one dessert at LeCellier for about $150.00.

Two people had salads, entres, and shared the dessert sampler for $135.00 at the Yachtsman. Just not worth that much more to us.

I think we would pick LeCellier. The last time we were at Yachtsman, it was just okay. The best steak I had on property was at the Flying Fish. THAT is our favorite restaurant at WDW!! :D

We've eaten at both and enjoyed them. If I had to pick one it would be LeCellier. It has a slightly more casual feel and is more intimate. Looking forward to eating there in June.

We love the Flying Fish too. Last time we ate there both DH and I had the filet and loved it. Thanks for all your replies, I think we will try Le Cellier this time.

as being from new england all my life,I need to know, whats a new England steak house? even when I was little they were all pretty much chains(they still are, just different chains now, like outback, texas roadhouse,longhorn).... :drinking:

We have eaten at both many times and perfer Yachtsman. The main reason is LeCellier has always been so busy. The tables are so close together that trying to go to the restroom is like running an obstecle course. :) The food is very good at both, but for overall dining experince, I pick Yachtsman.

I was born a CT Yankee :)

There's some excellent stakhouses in New England that are not chains--try Kelly's in Manchester (CT) or Porterhouse in Norwalk. I guess a lot has to do with the decor. Hard to put into words. :)

We ate at Le Cellier first and enjoyed it. Everything was edible, but nothing stood out as WOW!...well, maybe the soup, but only to me. We figured we would go back again, it definitely wasnt written off for us. It wouldnt be a must do on every trip though.

Then we went to YSH and thats where we found the WOW! ;) Everything we had was amazing! The bread with the garlic, Caesar salad, steaks, creamed spinach, and mashed potatos were all perfect. We cant wait to go back here again! :)

I felt the opposite about this. At Le Cellier we were in the middle of the floor with lots of people around us. I got the cozy, intimate feeling at YSH as we were in a little cove with only 2 tables and the other table was empty for most of our meal. I guess it depends on your particular experiences. :)

I've done both and would give the nod to Yachtsman. Not that Le Cellier isn't good -- indeed it is very good. Its just that the Yachtsman is darn close to being GREAT. Ask for Oscar os your server.

We've done both as well and I have to say that we loved both for different reasons! I honestly couldn't choose between the two.....

Sorry, that isn't helping you is it?

Good luck choosing! :wizard:

We have eaten at both and Yachtsman gets our vote. The steaks were more tender and the cuts thicker. The service was spectacular. We enjoyed the sides better at the Yachtsman, as well as the selection of dessert. Also, the Yachtsman feels more intimate. The tables are further apart, and there seemed to be more intimacy. It was just perfect for our anniversary dinner! Yes, it is quite expensive and we certainly didn't scrimp (over $125 for 2 not including tip), but to us it was more than worth it!

We like Le Cellier for lunch... not as crowded, and they have wonderful cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread. We like the selection of appetizers, too! The burger is THE BEST, and big enough to share! Also, the Maudite Canadian beer is absolutely awesome!

For us, lunch at Le Cellier and dinner at the Yachtsman. :cool1:
