For those who have done BOTH Yachtsman and Le Cellier, which offers better food? By better food, I mean tastier and more tender steaks. :thumbsup2

We are trying to decide which of these 2 places we want to dine at in December. Please vote fairly and not choose Yachtsman in hopes that a reservation will be opened up for Le Cellier. ;)

I have a reservation for one and I made my sister a reservation for the other. She is letting me have first pick as our party has more carnivores than hers. (meat and potatoe guys) The other reservation will be used by my sister and her party, so how you vote will not open a reservation.

As a guide, our favourite place to eat steak is Saltgrass and we always do filet mignon and prime rib.:yay:

I've been to both, and there's really no comparison. In the Epcot area, there are definitive tiers when it comes to the steakhouses, and Le Cellier is the lowest tier. Shula's is the highest.

Obviously, that leaves Yachtsman somewhere in the middle. I'd say in that middle ground, they serve a better steak than Le Cellier (but nowhere near as good as Shula's), and they actually have appetizers and sides that can be better than what you get at Shula's. In any instance, though, what you get served at Yachtsman is usually better than what you can get at Le Cellier.

The only thing Le Cellier has going for it is that you can get lunch there, and it's still 1 TS for those people on the dining plan. For dinner, though, it's not really even in the conversation when speaking of quality or value.

We've done both and there's no contest. Its YSH by far.

100% on this.

I'm a vegan...does that mean I didn't vote fairly?

:lmao:

I agree on what PP's have said
Shulas
Yatchsman
the others

I agree. While i enoyed our meal at Le Cellier, we've eaten there three times, yatchsman is much better in food and service. But in my opinion either would be yummy so your sister will have a good meal even if she is getting the 'loser' adr. Enjoy!

Agree that it's Yatchsman and it isn't even close. We ate as Le Cellier a couple trips ago and while it was good, it is in my opinion way over rated on these boards. Would have considered going back if it was still 1TS, but at 2, now way.

Yatchsman has been a must on everyone of our trips since we've discovered it.

Agreeing with Yachtsman! We did both in December and Yachtsman was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Le Cellier is good, true, but Yachtsman is the DEAL. I had the porterhouse and I am here to tell you.....I was so stuffed but I made myself continue to eat because it was the best I had ever had!!!!
:thumbsup2

We've also been to both and definitely feel Yachtsman has better food. The ambiance there is also much nicer, more of a signature experience.

I know years ago that LeCellier got raving reviews - now that they have changed menus, and are a 2TS place - the reviews arent as glowing -

for a reason,

its as a PP said, low end - fewer choices...

Yachtsman is a 2TS restaurant, and you do feel like you are at a steakhouse - we went for our Anniversary, and they gave us menus to take home - the steaks were delicious - you get to see the steaks when you enter the restaurant...

at LeCellier, I loved their Maple Fillet - no longer available - and they did have a prime rib, but it wasnt that good, my cut was very fatty - and not very flavorful - but for a 1TS on the Dining Plan - it was well "worth it"

On our recent trip in February we ate at both restaurants and Yachtsman's was clearly a step above LeCellier.

I enjoyed my most recent dinners and lunches at Le Cellier, while Yachtsman has always underwhelmed us.

However, we haven't been to Yachtsman in a few years now, so I think my opinion about Yachtsman might be out of date. I am definitely giving them another chance in August.

I find it interesting that Le Cellier has 12 votes and yet nobody has commented on their experience at both. ;)

My sister is going to go to Le Cellier and we are going to visit Yachtsman. She is "in love" with the preztel breadsticks. I think she also had a thing for Patrick who used to work there. She is going to be disappointed to find out that he went back to Canada. :rotfl:

too cute about your sister!

ITA about the pretzel bread and of course we do love the soup as well - dd thinks its just a "dip" not soup! I think the recipe for the soup was posted on allears and I have made it (just dont tell dd it has beer in it!! :rotfl:)

We find steaks to be better quality at Yachtsman.

QUESTION: Having never done LeCellier for LUNCH, do they serve the pretzel rolls with all lunch orders (sandwiches and big salads, too) or just with entrees like steak and gnocci. Making ressie for lunch for upcoming stay, but I need my pretzels!

They do serve their bread assortment to all tables at lunch. I enjoyed a piece of pretzel bread before my delicious salmon sandwich when I last ate lunch at Le Cellier.
