(lol, folks wonder how I ever convinced a 9 year old to eat medium rare steak, but she loves it.)
A few years ago when we were at Disney and ate at Le Cellier, my son who was 6 at the time had ordered the steak in the children's meal. When asked how he would like it he responded with "blue".

. He has always order his steak medium (like I do) and seemed to enjoy, but my husband orders his steak "blue" all the time and he decided he would try it. I explained to him that he can try "rare" if he wants because I don't think he would enjoy steak that's cold in the middle

. He did and from that day on, he orders his steak "rare". He's older now and he has tried "blue" but seem to really like "rare".
I guess my point it that children do have different tastes. He also refuses to eat child type food such as chicken fingers, fries, hotdogs, hamburgers etc. He gets so upset when we tell him he as to order from the children's menu since he was a child. At the age of 7, he ordered from the adult menu and when we did get
DDP, we purchase an adult DDP for him. We did get lots of looks and a few times, they needed to check our "key" to confirm the DDP.
Although he still loves Le Cellier, he did admit that his steak was not as great as he remembered it. Now, he always asks to go to Teppan Edo and Tokyo dining - he absolutely loves sushi - and not the kind I like which I call fake sushi (california rolls), he loves the raw sushi.
Sorry, went out of topic. When I saw your post, I had to post as well because very few children I know eats like my son. We should form a club!
