Le Cellier menu change?

Called this afternoon and spoke with one of the chefs, "Bret." Filet on mac & cheese is here to stay and is not being "changed out" for anything else during the free DDP. Our anniversary dinner is too important to mess around with, and I really don't want any surprises. It was a toss up this year between Jiko or Tchoup Chop. If the filet was gone at Jiko, Emeril does a good one, too :)

Bret did say, too, that once the free DDP is over, the duck will be back on the menu. He didn't mention anything about it being "seasonal." Wonder if that's the case for Chef's, as well.

Sometimes I wish I had a spring wedding <sigh>

Yeah I would have been very suprised if they had taken it off. David told us it was one of the top dishes there...not to mention my favorite  I hope you guys have a great dinner :goodvibes

From what I have read on reviews, it just seems that they took off the cheese platter and also the dessert platter? I am hoping that is it as well!

Oh no! :sad2: I'm going to be here for the first time during our Thanksgiving trip and was planning on getting the cheese platter. That really stinks! I'm a vegetarian and was looking forward to it!

I, too wish that WDW wouldn't have changed the menu's, quality of food and serving size of meals at their restaurants but due to the DDP it seems as if all of the services are not up to par.

Pretty soon all of the meals will be generic no matter where anyone chooses to dine.

I don't think they keep vegetarians in mind when creating their menu. It is a steakhouse after all.

It's funny how the DDP is either "WAY too much food!" or responsible for meals being reduced to a a chicken nugget and a sprig of parsley.

Disney does a fantastic job of keeping vegetarians in mind. There is always a vegetarian option. I think Disney does a great job with that! My DH only eats meat and I don't eat any. I've always had the chef come out and make sure my needs are met for my meal. :thumbsup2

I have never had a problem with the amount of food served, but have a huge problem with the changes to the menu and quality of service. Since WDW offered the DDP they have decreased the size of entrees because now appetizers and dessert is included.

I wouldn't mind a sprig of parsley but please leave off the chicken nugget. :teeth: I have never eaten a nugget and don't plan to start now. :thumbsup2

Much of this speculation is pretty academic -- we'll know in less than a month whether any of this is true. Come October 10, if the duck re-appears on the Chefs de France menu, then it is true, and we'll know for next year. If the duck is still gone, then it isn't true, and this was a good bit of worry over nothing.
