Le Cellier lunch today, what has happened ?

We just returned from a trip last week, and had a lunch ADR during our visit. Everything was wonderful, including the service. We can honestly say that we've been going to WDW twice a year since 2003 and Le Cellier is always one of our ADRs and have never had a bad meal, or bad service once. :confused3

LIke the OP, really annoyed with the drastic change in the mussel dish. Used to be the best mussels on property...time to switch to Flying Fish for those now.

Does the Flying Fish have good mussels? Are they like the ones that Le Cellier USED to have?

We totally agree!

We had supper there in Sept.;
Poutine, (assorted cheeses, whiskey flight had both of these as dessert), *bone in ribeye, some of the best polenta I have ever tasted and a great server.
I've never thought the filet great and the cheddar soup is salty as can be. *I'm always astonished when people rave about them. I think one key to a good meal at WDW TS restaurants is to book outside the common dinner times and from the beginning let your server know you will not be rushed. I find this to be really important at O'hana, Coral Reef and *Le. Cellier. *Also, if you are served something that is fatty, grisly or poorly cooked: send it back!

We had lunch last year at Le Cellier and it was wonderful. We are visiting again next week for lunch and now I'm worried it won't be the same....the meal was so delicious and I've been looking forward to eating there again all year. Hope we're not disappointed.... :confused3

We had lunch there in May and everything was good. We were seated at out ADR time ( 2:30pm), the server was attentitive and the food was very good. No complaints here. Look forward to having lunch again in August.

I made a 4:00 ressie to avoid the signature points but know I'm getting the lunch menu. However I was told by someone that they actually start serving the dinner portions because it's so close to dinner time. Has anyone had this experience? I'm so torn with these reviews. Some love it and others hate it. I guess it's just a gamble when you get there as to what type of service and food you get. I'm not going until late Oct so I guess I still have time to cancel if necessary.

We have never had a bad meal there. I don't know if it's just good luck or what. We've only had dinner there. It's not the best steak in all the land--I think that honor goes to Yachtsman.

It's a really nice meal though. We didn't go last time we were there so will pick it up again in November.

The 1 and only time dh and i ate at lc was the very first time they offered dp for free and the tip & tax was included. The only time we saw our server was wheh he took the order and never again after that, the manager actually delivered our food and brought dh another beer. Food was okay but nothing to rave over. Needless to say if the tip hadn't been included, he wouldn't have gotten one, we haven't been back since.

My family ate here last October for lunch on my birthday. There seemed to be a lot of people waiting and not very many tables that were full. I asked because there were five or six CM's standing in the dining room talking. One CM pointed to a table and said that was our table but it wasn't released yet? :confused3 We waited longer.

I have allergies so I had the filet and asked for it to be plain, had potatoes and brussel sprouts. (That is the only vegetable the restaurant has). The steak was really tender. The problem was that there was so much salt and pepper on all of it.

My DM and DH had burgers and said they were okay. DH did like the cheese soup. We all agreed that for the amount of time we had to wait, the cost, and quality of food - we will not be returning. There are so many other choices.

We just ate at LC yesterday and this past Weds, both times for lunch. We loved it! DS ordered the burger both times with his mushrooms on the side (for me!) and thought it was great. I ordered the mushroom filet both times, but first with risotto and the last time with the cream cheese mashed
Both times my filet was tender and buttery. The first day I ordered my beloved mac and cheese. Never again! It was oily...really greasy oily cheese. I used the small paper drink napkin to sop some of it up. It was gross.:sad2: and I was so looking forward to it. Yesterday I decided to try the cheese soup again after finding it too salty years ago....well at least they were consistant...still salty lol :rotfl:. And I like salt! DS had the choc moose dessert and that shrank from the past as well. Our service was pretty good. Both servers were nice to us and we didn't order alcohol either. I am wanting to go back again tomorrow for lunch. I already have ADR for Chefs de France, but I always find their servers to be snooty. :snooty:

my sister and i had lunch at le cellier in late november 2011 and were disappointed as well. for us it was just the food, our service was fine. my soup was tepid at best and my filet tasted like it was boiled. it was just not good. we'd had dinner there twice before the big switch and loved our meal but like you, i'm not in any hurry to go back after our last experience.

we're headed to the crypt for lunch in December just for the beer ... Unibroue! I suspect there will be some cheese soup and pretzels but otherwise ... if I want a steak I will grill it at home or go to some place like Yachtsman or Shulas.

I'm sorry to hear it. I've always liked Le Cellier for lunch!
