My DW and I have been hankering for some good poutine and just learned that it's on the menu at Le Cellier. I know the new place has opened at Springs but figured Le Cellier's would top it by a mile being..well, Le Cellier! Really just want the poutine...but we were talking about each complimenting it with the famous Cheddar Soup and desert. Anyone go just for appetizers or side dishes? I guess it being Le Cellier I feel a little self-conscious about going so lite! Thanks! :)

You used the word "Good" and "Le Cellier" in the same sentence, I would replace it with "Average." You would think Le Cellier would top a lot of places in steak and poutine, but it don't. But with that said, feel free to go there and just order appetizers and dessert, it's acceptable and there is nothing to feel self-conscious about. You might even think differently than I do of Le Cellier and not think of it as average and over-rated and instead may consider it outstanding and under-rated (doubt it, LOL).

My boyfriend and I are going to Le Cellier for the first time in August and we are only ordering the 3 poutines to try. We are poutine addicts and will feel no shame doing this!

I believe you'll find the reviews of the Poutine at LeCellier to often mention "non traditional" and "merely ok". The Daily Poutine at Disney Springs has the same comments by reviewers, but rave reviews for their Poutine.

I'm glad that you asked this question. My DD loves Le Cellier poutine and our plan this summer is to order 2 bowls of cheddar soup, 2 orders of poutine and 2 soft drinks (for two people) for lunch. I think that should be fine, but would like to hear opinion of others.

If you like Canadian Poutine, you will be disappointed at Epcot Canada.

We've ordered just drinks, soup, and poutine there in the past. I don't think it was a problem.

I'm from Qc so poutine is in our blood! When I looked at a picture of the poutine at Le Cellier it doesn't look like a real poutine imo. The cheese is all wrong! For a real poutine you need cheese curds not melted cheddar! We have all kind of poutines with different sauces but the staple for a good poutine is the squeaky cheese curds. Is there any pictures of the poutine at DS?

When i saw pictures of poutines at Disney :(:sad2::crazy2:

The potatoes have to take A bath of oil In "low" temperature and sit down. Before service They Go In hot Damn oil. Perfect fries.

Cheese curds. Not fac simile cheese, the one made In the morning Who make "squiche squiche" when In is your mouth. Fresh cheddar cheese curds (to make cheddar the cheese is pressed and cut In small cubes, deformed by warmth, and They Go In A Salt bath. It is the right moment! After They make the cheese in to molds (My grand father Was A cheese maker)

We call this Fromage en crottes

And A good dark or barbecued gravy.

The poutines at Disney Springs (now you can Cry - the fries look like the frozen stuff)

Thanks for this post- we fell in love with poutine in Quebec and I had the same exact thought- Le Cellier for poutine and cheddar soup- but it was really throwing our schedule out of whack- after these reviews, I'm thjnking it's not worth going hugely out of our way.

Thanks dis-ers for the insight!

First off, THANKS to everybody for responding! I know I can always count on my fellow DIS-ers for good insight and info! Sooooo...after hearing from those who know, I'm on the fence now about keeping the rez. I'm not a big steak person so I'd never go for that, but part of me says to still go and see what happens. I get it's not authentic, but then again I enjoyed the stuff from MK when I tried it last year, so I'm thinking since I don't know REAL poutine, eating the "crappy" stuff won't really matter! :) That's crazy logic, I know, but I've never eaten there so the new experience might just be worth it. Thanks for all the reassurances too! :)
