Le Cellier is still AMAZING!!!

Just back, and had dinner at LeCellier one evening, and it is still wonderful. Had the filet with the Risotto, they told me that the mashed potatoes with the cream cheese in them was no longer an option, they are gone. I was sad, but the food was still wonderful and we got our ressies about 2 months ago, I was suprised we could in, but did and soooo glad.

That sounds great.. We are heading to see the mouse in a couple of weeks and have our 1st ressie for Le cellier. Looking forward to eating there.

I got a ressie 9 days before our trip last week. It was WONDERFUL!!!!! My MIL said it was the best salmon she had ever eaten.

Good to know as I had read some other reviews from faily recently that le Cellier had gone downhill.

We ate here about 14 years ago and have it booked for our 15th anniversary in September and I can't wait! DS is now a fan of steak, so was happy to see that on the kids menu as well...really wish the kids menu had a bit more variety overall, but I know he will be happy that he can get steak here.

This is very good news to hear as I have been reading many negative reviews and I have been questioning whether to cancel my ressie. Although you had dinner I would assume that my lunch ressie would still be on par with the service you get at dinner

Edited; Weird. They are now on the wdwinfo menu's and the trio of chocolate is not. Maybe they brought it back

Just looked at the wdwinfo menu, and it's very, very wrong. The chocolate trio never left the dinner dessert menu, and the chocolate whiskey cake never left the lunch dessert menu. The crab apple salad appetizer hasn't been on the dinner menu in months, and the gooseberry cod and duck entrees were also removed from the dinner menu in April. The lunch menu also has many mistakes, including the duck appetizer, burger, chicken sandwich, halibut, etc. I'm surprised that the menus say updated in June 2011, because they both have dishes that haven't been around since March or earlier.

So if you still want the chocolate whiskey cake and the cream cheese mashed potatoes, you should go for lunch. I bet there would be a lot of uproar if these items were completely removed. They sound good, and I'm looking forward to trying them this weekend.

Can't wait for your next report. I thought the potatoes were okay. I subbed them for the risotto when we went. Bad choice. While they were good, I tried my husbands risotto and it was great.

Wow, that's interesting to hear. I like the risotto (and I'm not even a fan of mushrooms), but so often I see comments here that the mashed potatoes are better. I guess I shouldn't raise my expectations too much (that seems to be the downfall of so many people who try Le Cellier - they expect something godly when they order the cheese soup and filet), but I'm still looking forward to trying the potatoes and comparing.

I don't hear alot of people talking about the burger there but it was the best I have ever had. I dream about it all the time...

I went to Le Cellier years ago and we weren't impressed. At the time I had the cheese soup (totally underwhelmed) and the filet. It was nothing special. I think I live in a place where we have a lot of REALLY good steak places, heck I think outback may even be on par with Le Cellier. So maybe I am just spoiled. I never understood the hype.

The main reason for the hype was that Le Cellier offered decent steak for 1 credit on the dining plan. Before the DDP gained prominence, Le Cellier wasn't very popular at all.

That said, Le Cellier isn't going to compare to the better steak places where you live, but it's extremely good relative to the other theme park food options. The only other restaurant in the parks that I think has food at a similar quality is Brown Derby.

Just got back, and the dinner I had at Le Celier was the best I've had in WDW, and one of the best anywhere. I too had read the mixed reviews on this site, and went in skeptical.

I had the filet cooked medium well and we split a side of mac & cheese - both were phenomenal. I've ate at Ruth's Chris, Fleming's, high end local places, and Le Celier was just as good or better than all of those.

Splurge at Le Celier with confidence!

I actually went to Le Cellier pre DDP. It was still quite popular then. People have been raving about it forever. I think it is absurd that it is a 2 credit signature restuarant now. I'm glad people enjoy it, but we won't be going back.
