Le Cellier - Excellent!!!!!

Hi Everyone;

I've been going through the posts, a little bit, a am glad to see other Canadians on this site. A little back ground on us, hubby is with the Canadian Army and we are posted to Colorado Springs. Let me tell you, when I get home to visit I have a nice Canadian BBQ'ed rib eye steak, some KFC and Tim Horton's (even though the donuts have declined since we left Canada) I also pick up all the Salmon (canned) I can carry home, chocolate bars and Oreos and Fudgies I can stand to walk around with. The steak here in the US has a much different taste, a lot of that is the steroids they use in their meat. I respect everyone's thoughts though and I just like Canadian meat more, that might be an issue that you prefer what you were raised with though.
Anyway, we are heading to WDW in the beginning of December and are cruising on DCL on December 10th. Has anyone heard of Canadians having to surrender their passports on ship? I've seen info on having to present it but nothing on surrendering it, however, some other people have written that Disney keeps your Passports for the whole cruise. Anyone have info on that?

Thanks for the help;

We do have to hand over our passports when cruising regardless if it is Disney or Carnival they all have the same rules on that issue.

Here's a link to a recent thread on this board:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=933615

When we cruised in Feb you did have to leave your passports. It really was no big deal (IMHO). There is also a BIG thread on ths topic on the Cruise Forum (under 'Cancelled Cruise' I think)

I'm always still surprised when people talk about Le Cellier as being a "must do". I've eaten there recently and thought it was great, but my mind always goes back to when I worked there in late 1997. They had just switched over from a tray slide cafeteria style service to full table service and the restaurant was definitely a place that would be lower on the list for most guests. It was a place to go if everything else was booked.

Now it seems to be one of the premeire WDW restaurants. Glad to hear it. Go Le Cellier! Thank goodness they've kept the cheese soup all these years. They can play around with the rest of the menu, but leave the soup alone.
