So I made a reservation at San Angel Inn for lunch in Oct. thinking that was the restaurant currently being refurbished . . . :confused3. So, ding-a-ling here just read recently that the new Cantina won't even offer lunch, so I wanted to change our lunch reservation! I just checked Le Cellier and they have nothing and I will keep checking sporadically, but just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? We have eaten counter service at EPCOT the past few trips and would like to do a TS this time. Two caveats - my husband is basically a vegan who will eat fish (it's a medical thing) and I have a toddler. I thought maybe Coral Reef, but haven't heard very good things about it. Maybe Teppan Edo? We do eat on the early side (11:30 am) so I'm also trying to keep in mind the trek from FW to WS just to get something to eat (that's why Le Cellier would have been great - and I suppose San Angel too, but I haven't read good things about that either!)

Help me!!!

Akerhaus has several types of salmon on their buffet and menu. And if your toddler is a girl, the princess action will definitely work. That is one of our favorite places in the WS.

We ate at Coral Reef when our DS was a toddler and we all enjoyed it. It's not our favorite, but it was good. The tank definitely captured DS's interests.

Would you consider leaving the park for lunch? Hop on the monorail and try Kona at the Polynesian. Yum!

San Angel Inn is totally different than what the new restaurant is going to be. It is open for lunch and dinner. I believe the new cantina is going to replace La Cantina De San Angel (or that's getting bigger). So, if you wanted to eat in the Aztec Pyramid, that's San Angel Inn (table service).

As for Coral Reef, we LOVE that restaurant. It gets alot of bad press, but it's really beautiful, fun for the kids ( request a table next to the aquarium, it's sooo worth it) and the food is great. It's a "don't miss" when we go. (we're going for my birthday lunch in Sept !!) :cool1:

Good luck with whatever you choose !!

Above poster is correct, San Angel Inn is NOT the place being refurbed or built. It is totally seperate.
Personally I love the San Angel Inn, it is a nice choice. Good food, fantastic atmosphere and so relaxing. (fyi...it is not tex mex, but more traditional dishes)

But I would suggest looking at all of Epcot's menus and see what appeals to you and go there. That way you won't be disappointed.

Chefs de France is my favorite restaurant in the entire park along with Le Cellier. They both have somewhat similar menus and quality food. Chefs has a better selection IMO. Chefs has a good selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, fish, and meat. Everything I've ever eaten there has been cooked perfectly. I never knew chicken and potatoes could taste so good.

Les Chefs is a good alternative for Le Cellier. They have a good lunch special.

Akershus is our favorite, but we also really enjoy Scandinavian food in general.

Bistro de Paris or Chefs de France would be my next choices for someone not a big meat eater, otherwise I might say Rose & Crown..... but they do have fish and chips... and Guiness....

I have eaten at both and I love them both!!!! I love the atmosphere at Coral Reef and it kept my 4 year old son occupied the whole time staring at the fish. but I also love it at San Angel because while we were waiting for dinner my husband ran my son on the ride and then it was time to eat!!LOL I thought the food was really good at both places so have fun deciding which one you will now choose!! Cant wait we are leaving for our trip in 57 days YIPPEE:banana:

We've had great experiences at both Coral Reef and Teppan Edo. Either one is great for kids. The fish tank at Coral Reef messmerizes them and the chefs at Teppan Edo entertain them. We've dined at Coral Reef 4 times and never had a bad meal or bad service. The only issue at Teppan Edo for your DH might be the fact that they cook meat on the grills. If he has a problem with that, you should avoid it.
