I know children are allowed at all WDW restaurants (except I think Victoria and Albert's), but how is Le Cellier with kids? My kids will be 4 and not quite 2.
Should we plan to all go here (along with Grandma and Grandpa), or would this be better for just me and DH alone?

We're planning to eat here for good steak. We're also going to Coral Reef, and I've heard they have pretty good steak too. Is it worth going to Le Cellier for steak?

Thanks for your input!

We brought our three year old this year and it was great. There were several other young children there. The food was good.

Le Cellier is very kid friendly. We went last year with 4 kids ages 10, 8, and two 5 year olds. It was one of their favorites. The CM's really entertained our kids in the lobby while we waited for our table with a Disney guessing game and the game followed us to our table and we went back and forth the whole meal stumping each other. They even presented our kids with magical moments certificates signed by all the CM's.

I had a filet mignon at Le Cellier last July. I thought it was very good, but not enough to justify the $22 price. Personally I wouldn't fret if an ADR wasn't available, but if one was I would probably take it. When we dined there, I saw plenty of kids, most of which were 10 or under, so I won't be afraid to eat at Le Cellier with kids. There are some items on the menu that they might like. Here is a link to the Le Cellier menu: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=137

As a side note, I have had far better steak for less money at other, non-Disney restaurants. It really depends if you can justify the price. :)

That's an interesting take. I find Le Cellier to be a good $22 steak, the problem being I like $40 steak.

My kids love Le Cellier, but mainly because the Chocolate Moose is their favorite dessert. I think any "one credit" restaurant is fine for kids - I start wondering about two credit restaurants, but not from the "kids are inappropriate" standpoint but from the "those meals get both lengthy for a toddler and expensive if a toddler needs to be removed for a restaurant" standpoint.

The theme park restaurants are appropriate for little ones. There's just one exception; I wouldn't take a toddler into Bistro de Paris at Epcot. But every other restaurant in any park will be full of kids.

If your children are restaurant friendly (able to sit for a meal without screaming, crying, running around, etc) then they will be welcomed anywhere (except Vic and Als) by the establishment and likely by the other patrons

Thanks for the input so far! :)

We're planning to do the Dining Plan, (and keeping fingers crossed for FREE dining!), so the cost isn't a big issue.

DH hasn't given a whole lot of input for the trip - I'm the impulsive planner! - so he surprised me during our recent planning day (with my parents) by saying he'd like to eat (steak) at Le Cellier (recommended by my uncle) - and surprised me even more by saying he wants to ride Rockin' Roller Coaster!!

I'm not that big on steak - though a tender Filet Mignon can be a nice treat. I don't think I'd order it more than once on a trip though.

We had free dining last year and Le Cellier was the best meal of our trip. My boys were 4 and 2. They weren't as entertained as at some of the other restaurants, but they handled it pretty well. My 4 year old loved the chocolate raspberry shake (I think that's what it was) and that kept him pretty happy. Give it a try :thumbsup2

We took our 3 little ones (4, 2, and 1). And they loved it. The pretzel breadsticks were the 1 yr olds favorite. I say take everyone and have fun. My kids did great and the service was fast and the food excellent.
