I just booked my Le Cellier LUNCH. I really wanted to do dinner there, but as in previous trips, those dinner times are very hard to come by - totally booked again.;)

I think the place is gaining in popularity in a huge way. Of course, it IS excellent, so I can see why - but word to the wise, book for Le Cellier EARLY. :)

Yes it is very difficult to book. Much more than previous years. If you don't book on your 180 day mark than you just have to get extremely lucky

we went in 99 before dining plans and before the word on lecelier got out, we ate there twice in the saem week without any reservations at all. when we started palnning this trip i was so glad i found out about having to have a ressie for lecelier we would have been so bummed if we didnt get a chance to eat there again

Lunch there is very good! We want to go back there for dinner in Oct so I plan on calling right at my 180 day mark and giving them the flexibility on the entire week we are there...if I still cant get in I am going to have a fit :lmao:

As more people use the DDP they are looking for places with the most expensive meal in an attempt to order a meal that if paid for OOP would cost as much as possible.

The DDP has people eating and ordering things that if paid for OOP would never be ordered.

In the past we have used the DDP and enjoyed it, but prior to having the DDP we wouldn't have eaten a TS meal all 7 nights. Heck quite often we would just order apps and a salad and a bottle of wine for the evening meal, and split a CS lunch.

The amount of food you get on the DDP is off the hook. ( when desert was on the plan).

We love Le Cellier. I called last week and was able to get a dinner res. for 13 people @ 4:30. We always try to eat at "off" times, anyway, but I think 4:30 is the first seating for dinner.

We were lucky this last trip because we wanted lunch. We still want lunch, so I'm hoping they'll be easy too book.

I'm making two ADR's for this place! We loved loved loved it.

It is funny that so many people complain about how hard it is to get a Le Cellier reservation. I guess DH and I are just lucky we haven't ever had any trouble getting a revervation or the time we wanted. We usually get around 6:00pm no problem every year. :confused3

Yes you are quite lucky. I have called at 170-175 days out numerous times and been told they are booked for the whole day. This past Christmas which I know is a very very busy time, i called at about 170 days with all my ADR request. They had ZERO openings for the whole week at LeCellier.

Maybe it's as simple as you go to WDW during less busy times than we do!

I book my dinner ressies immediately after booking resort & flight. This time there were no spaces at LeCellier dinner for the 6 nights we will be at WDW. We do not do the Disney Dining Plan because we almost always choose 2 dinner restaurants. ( I was shocked when they put LeCellier back to a 1 (it was a 2 when the plan was first started). We have had to move LeCellier to Lunch on our last 2 trips. I am very surprised that they have maintained the quality at LeCellier. But it is also a very small restaurant.

Everytime I put together trip plans I calculate up my restaurant plans vs what DDP would get me and DDP never comes out ahead. I would gladly give up all my snacks for more Dinner points........... However, there is one benefit of the DDP with respect to my restaurant choices...... families with cranky, hungry children who will not stay in their chairs and only want to eat hamburger & MacCheese do not often eat at the 2 dinner restaurants.
My new favorite is now Artist Point.

I booked my ADR's for LeCellier at 180 days out. My DH wanted to eat there twice on this trip. We got them both for 6pm.

I definitely agree...book ASAP.

With the popularity of the DP, I would book 180 days out, even in what is considered the off season.

I was able to snag two reservations for my vacation for 8, at dinner time, without problem...but I did call at exactly the 180-day mark and before 7:30am Eastern.

we did book 180 days out and all that was left were 8:40 and 9:50 p.m.!

We ran into that too. Day one of our trip, called at 7am on the nose and had rotten times for our party size. (7) We decided to split into two groups to dine at a more normal time.

I prefer lunch there. We are doing lunch there again in May and I cannot wait...mmmmmm and love the cocktail selection I might add ;)

We could only get lunch ressies for our Free DDP trip last year and I though the food was too heavy for lunch. I'm hoping for dinner this year. Off topic but has anyone had success ordering an appie as the entree? I LOVE the duck confit & it would be plenty for a meal for me!!

We've never ate there before....so when we did the dinning plan this year it was at the top of my list.

I called about a month ago for Resv in June'08. We have a party of 5...2 adults and 3 kids and they let us book two tables. He said he would get us close together...I sure hope so. Our oldest is 13, so we'll see....:confused3

We will be there for Easter lunch. I called about 120 days prior to Easter and got reservation (for 2) without issue. We ate tehre last Easter as well. Love the cheese soup!

We've been very lucky in the past too, I guess... last April, we went to Le Cellier for dinner without an ADR, and in Oct. during F&W, we went for lunch without an ADR. I called a few days ago, and was able to get a dinner ressie for our August trip (~175 days out) for the day/time we wanted as well. It was the one restaurant FI insisted we eat at!
