We finally ate at Le Cellier in Canada and can't wait to return!
I made PS resies for 2:50 so that we could take advantage of the lunch menu.
We checked in at 2:45 and were seated within 10 minutes.
Our server was Brenden and he was fabulous, energetic, funny and knowledgeable....our best server of the whole trip!!!!!!!!
My DH and DD started with the shrimp cocktail appetizer, DS ate the kids cheddar soup, DD had the kids salad and I had the cheddar soup......yummo on everything.
I couldn't decide between a merlot and pinot noir.....no problem says Brenden, I will bring you a sampling of both! Sample?!?! he gave me a 1/2 glass of each (very generous!) Of course, I liked the $16 pinot noir (not the $9 merlot--which he told my husband to finish because he liked it and it was a shame to waste a 1/2 glass of wine!) Brenden brought me out another glass--this time filled--of the pinot noir! (I really got my $16 worth of wine--came out to about 3 glasses
)
Our breadsticks were served rather uniquely in a silver footed cone shaped cup that sat in the middle of the table. There were pretzel, sour dough and multi grain soft pretzel-type sticks--good stuff!
For lunch (or "lupper"--ya know, lunch/supper?) My DD and I split the new york steak with potatoes and I ordered the side of mushroom risotto......fantasitc! DH ordered the prime rib sandwich--delicious! and the DS and DD ordered tube steaks (a.k.a. hot dogs--which they enjoyed)
for dessert the 2 kids got their kiddie sundaes and DD and myself split the chocolate mousse......sinfully delicious and cute as could be. DH ordered the cheesecake and reported it was thumbs up!
We gave Brenden a 25% tip because his service was superb! I thanked him profusely
and told him I would let others know about his work!
We will definitely be returning to Le Cellier on our next trip!
