I have ADR for Sept. I am a bit worried because the portions look small in the pictures I have seen on the reviews. I have 4 teen boys with hollow legs is this going to fill them or should I go back to my thought of german buffet or garden grill buffet???

I am worried, it sounds wonderful but, don't want to have to re-feed the tribe.

any thoughts thanks

Are you planning on going for lunch or dinner? I believe the lunch portions are a little bit smaller than the dinner portions, but unsure of that.

we have ADR for 4:10, I am just worried because my 2 15 year olds (two singlemom famlies combining for the trip) are growing so much right now and eatting us out of house and home. I have already planned to pack some protein bars and other snacks to help tide these, very thin, but growing boys over.

Thanks for the help

Are you doing the dining plan? I found the portions to be adequate but then again I am not a teenage boy!:) However, if you are on the dining plan and/or will be getting an appetizer as well as dessert with your meal then it should be just fine. I think just the meal itself, if no app. and dessert, may not be enough to fill them up( I have seen my friend's boys eat, my 9 y.o. DS is not there yet).

I have never been to Le Cellier (1st time will be Nov 2008), but you would not want to over eat at Disney. Between the sun and the rides, you should keep it light or you could end up feeling sick.

I have 2 teens myself, a 6'2" 17 year old and 6'4" 14 year old who can eat and eat and eat and etc....nobody in my family has ever been hungry after a disney meal! Bring water bottles to stay hydrated..this will also fill you a bit.

The steaks are bigger than they appear in pictures. I think it is because the plates are so large. Mine was as big as a serving platter, so the steak did look small at first. We were able to finish them, but we were stuffed. :thumbsup2

We came away stuffed from Le Cellier dinner-had the mushroom filets. They are much bigger than pictures look. And don't forget the bread sticks (they're really long thin loaves of bread) You can always ask for more-we did. We also ordered one bowl of the cheese soup as an appetizer (paid out of pocket for it) and shared it as "dip" for the bread. That should help fill your teens up.

Hmm... I had the filet at Le Cellier, twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. I didn't think it very large, but then filets usually aren't. I was able to finish it and I almost never finish an entire plate of food. It was adequate, for me. My DH or my DS15 would probably have thought it too small to fill them up without an appetizer. I'd bet the NY Strip is big enough though. I agree about getting a cup of cheese soup to dip the breadsticks in. That should help fill them up nicely, and it's yummy.

The entrees are not that large - Both DH and I had steaks. But order appies, eat the bread and have a dessert -- THEN all should be stuffed! We really enjoyed the food at Le Cellier :thumbsup2

My teenagers had the hamburger there in May and they were HUGE. Along with the breadsticks and soup it was plenty of food.

I had the fillet the last time and it was not huge but as PP said a fillet usually is not. I thought it looked kind of funny with the fillet on top of the potato taking up just a small area on the extra huge plate. If you are on DDP you do still get a dessert and as many breadsticks as you want which are very good. Teenage boys may not be stuffed but should get enough. I will be eating there with my teenage nephew in a couple weeks so I will see how he does.

I thank you for your input, I appreciate the input. I really want to dine at le cellier as last year I couldn't get ADR. I can't wait to try the bread sticks and the creme brulee.... yum

I believe the portions for a teen would be considered 'small'. My teen son would be able to put away two of the le cellier meals w/o a problem. He is definitely not overweight, average for his age, just has a real big appetitie right now as he is growing!. I will stay more towards all you can eat buffets, JMHO! ::yes::

The dinner filet is, I think, seven ounces before cooking.

Hmm... maybe we should judging Disney meals based in part on plating - like they do on Iron Chef America.. Because you're right - visually, that is one BORING plate!
