LDW or CDW, that is the question...!

Question for all you veterans out there. We're off on 27th Dec for 16 days. Our hire car is from Dollar, but on the voucher it states that LDW is included but on the web site it stated CDW was included. Are they the same thing....?

Yes, both the same thing. Loss Damage Waiver or Collision Damage Waiver covers you if you damage the car that you have hired. The other aspect of the policy will be SLI, Supplementary Liability Insurance, which covers you for anything else you might damage/cause injury to. Closest equivalent in UK car insurance terms is that SLI is 'Third Party' cover, and LDW/CDW is the 'Comprehensive' part of your motor insurance.
