LCD screen protector

I just got a Canon Rebel XSI. I need a scren protector of some kind. Suggestions? Not sure if I want the peel & stick. My DH has a plastic one on his Nikon D80 that's made just for it. Anyone know of one for my Rebel?

I used the peel and stick kind on my D40 and it was pretty effective. The D300 came with one so I didnt have to worry about that when I got it. The peel and stick are cheap and work until you can find out if they make the other kind for you camera.

This is probably a lot more than you want but for my recent trip I purchased Made Products Camera Armor. It is a soft polycarbonate skin for the camera with a hard plastic LCD protector that fits under the armor. Being a klutz I am always worried about banging my camera into something. Another thing that prompted this purchase was that I wanted to carry my camera around without a camera bag but was worried about water from rides and rain. I did carry a heavy plastic ziplock bag for cameras in my pocket in the case of a downpour or for certain rides. The armor is very snug and so it takes a little work to get on the camera. You need to put it on with the lens removed and the protector cap on.

I read a number of reviews. Some people love it and others hate it. I was very please with the camera portion. It protects the body and I had no problem getting the camera to work through the skin. It also comes with a soft polycarbonate lense hood. If you change your lenses often this would be a pain but I kept it on my walk around lens. I had to pull back the skin a little to change one of my lenses but had no trouble putting the camera on my monopod. The lens cap lanyard was a waste. I could not get the sticky to hold to my lens cap.

It is not cheap (about $40) and you need to get the skin for your specific camera because it matches all of your buttons. The skin for XTi is different from the XSi. I am very happy with it and will keep in on my camera.

I prefer a rigid screen protector. Some are available from daproducts.com

I purchased it through Amazon but I believe Wallmart sells the XSi cover too.

delkin makes screen protectors for most models. i have one i never use http://www.delkin.com/products/popupshades/
the good points are it protects from nose grease and offers some shade( newer lcds are better in bright sun)
bad points are it's a pain if you use your histogram or anything else on the lcd on a regular basis
i just looked and they don't have xsi..they do have the same armour type thing for an xti but don't know how diff the bodies are...the lcd is bigger on xsi i think so you may just have to wait a little longer for theirs

I have heard the actual screens are actually a protective "screen protector" in themselves and are very easy to replace (Canon makes a little kit). The cost isn't that much more than an aftermarket screen protector. I just bought a 50d, and I'm going without a protector. The screens are made to take normal abuse, and my 20D never got a noticeable scratch.

Now, my backpacking GPS, on the other hand, isn't as forgiving, and I have a nice little scratch on its screen.

I ended up buying the full camera armor from buy.com. It was $32-33 shipped. Thanks for posting this. I think I'll feel better having some protection for my new baby.
