LAX to Universal?

We arrive in LAX at 0930 on a Sunday (May 31). Would it be possible to do Universal on that day or would the crowds make it impossible to get anything done by the time we could actually get there?

We did Universal last week and it didn't take long at all. We got there by 10 and were out by 2. We did all the rides, the studio tour, and a few shows. We didn't do all the shows because we had seen them a few years before and we were with our kids. Anyway, we went on a Saturday (May 9) and it wasn't crowded at all. After spending 3 days at Disney it was actually quite pleasant. It might be a bit busier at the end of May but still doable. There really isn't a whole lot to Universal compared to Disneyland.

We had annual passes to Universal last year - there's not that much there really. You'll want to get the schedule of shows right away to time things right - and the other trick we learned was to go down the escalators first to do the couple of big rides on the bottom level ( Jurassic Park & Mummy ) - since most folks start with the tram and the upstairs attractions. Then you do the upstairs while everyone else is downstairs.

You'll probably be there by noon or so - so the trick will still work ( not quite as well, but ok).

What are the 'must see' things to do at Universal? Our kids are not huge into shows, they mostly want to ride rides. If we get there around noonish on Sunday, what can we expect?

There are only 3 rides. Simpsons, Jurassic Park and the Mummy. Then there is the House of Horrors walk through and the studio tour. The rest of Universal is mainly shows.
