I'm not saying they view or should view nursing as inappropriate. It's not. I'm saying when they see a boob that is what they are seeing whether it's for nursing or on a topless beach it's the same thing. A boob is a boob no matter what. And you're right I could just say she's feeding her child and than be done but some kids are going to stare and you can't tell them not to if it's beings being made public.

I don't think a nursing mom would be too concerned with a child curiously staring. As a parent, you could tell them staring is rude, but that's true in any situation.

He's been around a nursing mother and thinks nothing of it, because we never made a big deal about it. And if a kid stares out of curiosity, so what? Explain what the mom is doing, move on.

If I have to explain a breast's natural function to my 30 year old, I have other problems.

It's also a contrived photo shoot - not something happening in public.

A photo shoot done with the knowledge the pictures would be made public. A grand statement saying what... It's okay to breastfeed naked around others? I just don't get it. One boob out to breastfeed fine but you don't need both out and you don't need to be naked. I don't get the picture or the statement but either way I just thought of it when they said "commando nursing"

I promise if I come across a gang of buck-naked, breastfeeding women at my local mall, I'll complain too. These women are posing for a photo shoot, how is this even relevant to what we are talking about?

Here's the post you quoted. Not the bit I bolded - where it made clear that it was a question about "commando style" breast feeding in public.

Sorry the picture without the article literally came up on my Facebook page so when they were talking about commando nursing I thought of it. There was all this back and forth if it was wrong or right and if they went to far or not. The statement was to bold for me but there was so many people who agreed. It's just always going to be different opinions.

And the thing is I don't think anyone is against breastfeeding in public from what I've read. It's all about if a mom should be discreet or not.

But then again cement is hard to crack

What I am saying is your 11yo is gonna do & say what YOU want. My 30yo will relay that in his teens they were boobs not breasts. As much as you think he is gonna be all logical & OH yeah my Mom is right he is 11!!!!!

But I won't argue since I can't see through all the butterflies, unicorns & snowflakes.
