Day Seven (Thursday) - Magic Kingdom and resort hopping

Me - Laur's - 27
DH - Andy - 27

We were up at 8.30 am today and had breakfast in the room as usual - croissants with maple syrup for me and philadelphia for Andy, froot loops for me and rice krispies for Andy. We had to return the car by 10.30 am, so we set off from the Pop about 10 am. After dropping the car off, the minibus took us to the TTC and we headed straight to the Magic Kingdom.

We went to get a FP for Splash Mountain and then went on Pirates again - hurrah! We went to the shop afterwards as I was intending to buy the vest I had seen earlier in the trip - disaster though - they were no longer there (which just goes to prove that it really is true that when in Disney if you see something you like get it NOW!). We asked two CMs and neither of them knew what I was talking about (to be fair, they both said they didn't usually work in that shop). There wasn't anything I liked as much, so after trying on some silly hats we went for lunch.

We went to El Pirata Y El Perico as I had always wanted to try it but it is normally shut when we go. I wasn't disappointed - we had tacos, and chips with salsa and a diet coke, and it was all very good. I particularly liked the salad bar, there was all sorts of stuff to choose from.
After lunch we went for a trip round on the railroad as we hadn't done this since our first trip. After a relaxing ride, we went on Winnie the Pooh, Snow White's Scary Adventures, It's a Small World, Splash Mountain, Winnie the Pooh again, Philharmagic and the TTA. We then went on Buzz where I finally redeemed myself with my score - 108900, making me a planetary pilot - my best ever!

On our way out of the park we went to the Exposition Hall to look at our photopass pictures. I thought they kept these for at least a week, however, we were told that they only held them for three days - after that you have to order them online. We were a bit sad about this because we'd had our picture taken outside the castle at nighttime and really wanted to get a copy. Hang on though, as an after thought the CM says "Well, you can go and look at them in Toontown..." Fantastic. We decide to wait until tomorrow as our feet were giving up at this point.

We popped into City Hall to check the time of the Electric Water Pageant at the Polynesian resort. We hadn't seen this before, and wanted to check it out.

We arrived back at the Pop around 5.45 pm, showered and changed, and headed out again at 7 pm. We caught a bus to MK and then got the monorail over to the Polynesian. As we didn't have an ADR, we went to the food court, Captain Cooks, for some tea. They had a nice selection of cooked meals - I had a pulled pork sandwich and Andy had a cheeseburger, both with fries, and we had a bottle of tropical flavoured minute maid. The food was very nice, except that the fries were so salty that I was thirsty for the rest of the night.

The Electric Water Pageant started at 9 pm so after tea we had a short wander around outside, and then found a seat above the beach to watch. We were hoping to get a drink to have while we watched but the outdoor bar was closed (as were the outdoor bars at every other resort we went to except the Pop - ?). The pageant was amazing. I couldn't believe how it was possible for the lights to change like that.

Afterwards, we had a look round the shops in the resort and I had my picture taken with the Lilo and Stitch surfboard. I bought a Minnie Mouse notepad and magnet for my American email friend, Kari, and some cute rolls of tape for myself. They have Winnie, Goofy, Tink, Mickey and Minnie - a roll of each - for only $3!

As the night was still young, we got the monorail back to MK, and then a bus to the Port Orleans French Quarter for a nosy around. We had a walk round this resort and a quick look in the food court and shop (I had to get a cherry coke as I was so thirsty, well, and also because cherry coke is the best drink on the planet - not that my dentist agrees with me). We decided to walk to the Riverside (a lot further than it looks especially when wearing four inch heeled boots). We got a well deserved drink from the (indoor) bar when we finally made it - a beer for Andy and a strawberry margarita for me. After a little wander, we were just in time to catch the last boat over to Downtown Disney. This was a lovely way to travel, very relaxing especially with the margarita!

Last leg of the journey was a bus back to the Pop. We stopped off at the bar and I had a Hula Hoop and Andy tried a Lava Lamp, which was also very nice, and the colours in the drink almost did look like a lava lamp. I had another chocolate toffee bar when we got back to the room, and we hit the sack around 1 am.
