Laurs and Andys Halloween Happiness Trip Day 10
Laurs 28

Friday 28 September 2007
We had a lie in this morning, until 8.45 am ooooo, and then we let the Grim Grinning Ghosts wake us up, particularly as we are going to MNSSHP tonight. Andy went down to Everything Pop to get us some breakfast whilst I got myself ready for the day. He brought us back a breakfast platter scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes and a biscuit (yuk, why?) along with a banana, orange juice and a refillable mug filled with coffee.
We set off in the car at 11 am to WinterSummerland. We got a card for a free game of mini golf when we checked into the Poly, so we took advantage of that and played the Winter course. It was quite busy so we had to wait a few minutes before we could start, and had to go round a little faster than I would have liked. I finished with 53 and Andy with 48. The miserable CM on the counter didnt give us candy canes when we took our clubs back so Andy nicked us a couple off the counter.
We left there for Downtown Disney at 12.05 pm. We found out the worst thing about having a convertible as we were waiting at the lights to turn into DTD when lots of lovebugs swarmed into the car, yuk. We wanted to try the Earl of Sandwich for lunch as we had heard such good things about it. There was a huge queue which nearly put us off, but we were so hungry and couldnt think where else we could go and get something quickly with our dining plan. We shared a tuna melt sandwich, Miss Vickie salt and vinegar crisps, a lemonade for Andy and a cherry coke for me. It was excellent, Im glad we waited and the queue did move pretty quickly.
We stopped in at Pooh Corner after lunch and I bought a cutie Tigger pen for my mum. We then left for Walmart at 1.30 pm.
I love Walmart, it is so cheap I want to buy everything! I got lots of chocolate for me to take home, plus chocolate for my sister and our colleagues too, Lucky Charms for me, water, beer, alcopops (sorry, flavoured beer!), nail polish remover (88c!) and I also got six mini scented nail polishes, which I was sure wouldnt work but looked cute and were cheap but they actually do have fruit flavoured smells, very impressed.
We left at 2.25 pm, wallets not much lighter and headed back to the Pop for showers. We had been planning on wearing our costumes tonight but it had been so hot all day and no sign of it abating that we decided to take a gamble and save wearing them until Sunday (I know, how lucky was I getting to go twice!).
We set off for the bus to MK at 4 pm, and arrived at 4.45 pm. It was lovely seeing the other people in the bus queue all dressed up for the party. We had our first ever character meal booked at Crystal Palace and booked in when we arrived.
We waited quite a while to be seated, but it was definitely worth it. Pooh came to our table just as we were getting seated and I got a big cuddle whilst Andy sorted the camera out. I also got cuddles from Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger during the meal Tigger came up behind me and grabbed my shoulders he was definitely a man! I had diet coke with my meal and Andy had pink lemonade, and we were impressed that we got refills included. We ate: turkey, beef, cucumber, pasta salad, tropical coleslaw, carrots, apple, stir fried veggies, mushroom pasta, garlic mash and bread buns. The mushroom pasta was my favourite and I ate LOADS of it. For dessert we shared chocolate and vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, carrot cake and a chocolate chip cookie along with a cup of very strong coffee. They must have known we intended a late night. I loved Crystal Palace, it was so magical having my favourite characters coming to visit me its definitely the way to see characters. I kept forgetting to eat (which, trust me, doesnt happen very often!)
Full and happy we left to get our MNSSHP started. We went to collect candy bags which we had somehow missed out on when we came in, and then queued up for our pictures with Hook and Smee who we have never met before. We waited a long time because they went in for a while, but it was worth it because they were spending a lot of time with each family. Hook totally impressed us by somehow managing to remove not only Andys watch with his hook, but also his chain which pretty much never comes off. They were so funny, I dont think Ive ever looked so happy in a photo before.
After that excitement, we went to do some candy collecting as Hook and Smee had been very disappointed with our lack of candy! We went on POTC and then to Haunted Mansion. Madam Carlotta was outside and posed for a pic, though spookily you cant see her on it! She asked Andy where he would take her on a date and he said McDonalds. She said she had never heard of it and hoped it was a fine dining establishment (which he assured her it was!)
We went on the TTA next and Winnie the Pooh, by which time Hallowishes was about to start. We were blown away by the fireworks this year. We didnt enjoy them so much last year, but I think we had a better position to see them this year and we were more relaxed from being in the park early.
We had a quick trip on the carrousel before the parade which was excellent as always. We love the grave diggers and the dancers from the Haunted Mansion but what is it with the chicken thing in the barn?! The best bit though was when the pirate float stopped in front of us and on the Boo to you part of the song, Hook pointed right at me! I really hope it was because he recognised us from earlier in the night (and will not be told otherwise so dont even try!)
After the parade we went to the final Villains Mix and Mingle of the night which was great as they danced to our favourite Halloween song. Afterwards we queued for photos with the villains and couldnt believe the rare pictures we got. We had our pic with the Wicked Queen who asked whether I had any apples in my candy basket and told Andy off for standing on her cape, Cruella de Vil who was very funny and had her character off perfectly and Maleficent who just stared at us! You couldnt even stand right next to her, she had a rope barrier in front of her.
After our pictures, we went to the last Philharmagic performance of the night. It is so magical in there at that time of night, sitting on the floor examining the contents of our candy bags and feeling so sleepy and happy.
We made our way out of the park after the show and I went to see what the candy people were giving out as Andy took some photos. I couldnt believe my luck when they were giving out full size bags of kissables (which I love) and the lady giving them out said that I must have some in my lovely candy basket.
We managed to get on the bus at 12.30 am, standing and clinging on tight to our candy and each other! We were back at the Pop at 12.50 am, where Andy had a Bud, I had a water and we were in bed by 1.30 am.
