Laundry

I stayed at FW last year end of July and first two weeks in August. We were in the 1400 loop. With a family of 5 I found myself doing laundry several times during our 20 day stay. The dryers did not work well and usually needed 3-4 cycles to dry. It that normal? I thought $6 a load was quite high. There was a repair man there twice during my stay so I was hoping the dryers were not working well. We will be requesting this loop again but I will travel if needed to get my laundry done quickly. Anyways my question is does anyone know the best loop to do your laundry??:wave2:

I don't think you are going to find a better loop for laundry. Everyone seems to have the same complaint about the dryers. I think it may be more a factor of the high humidity rather than poor dryer operation, since it always seems to me that the dryers get hot enough, they just don't dry the clothes. Anyway, the dryers at the 1600 and 1900 loops don't dry any better. Sorry.

:(

Be sure to check the dryer setting and clean out the lint filter. I dried clothes through a cycle without realizing that it was on a low setting and it took them much longer to dry. Now I always check.

I have always thought the dryers SUCKED at Disney. You pay $1 for 15 minutes and it takes lots of $1 to get your clothes dry. I've never had a problem at any other campground with them taking this long so you wonder why these are so bad.

Lots of people have complained about the dryers but it never seems to get fixed. Let's hope they will take care of them one of the days.

If I had alot of clothes to wash, I would take them to a commercial laundromat in town.

There is a nice Laundromat just down the street from the Super Walmart on 192. They have the huge machines for washing if you need them and a whole wall of dryers that work great. They also have A/C that works great. We were able to do a weeks worth of clothes and tons of towels and bedding all at one time with several machines. With everyone's help we were in and out in no time and able to resupply at the Walmart.

We were there last Aug and I found myself doing a lot of laudry also. I tried several different machines and found that a couple worked much better than the others and stuck to those after the first time. You could ask others using the machines their experience and maybe save yourself a buck or 2.

The dryers in Loop 1500 seemed to work really well for me.

I washed one small load each day while I was in the shower in the evening and put them in the dryer while I was on the computer before bed.

At least Ft. Wilderness still allows you to put in one quarter at a time for it to run!!

At All-Stars you had to put in $2.00 minimum and that is all the machine would take.
