Laundry while camping

YES, a W/D can be a love/hate thing just like a 1/2 bath. Our MH has the extra 1/2 bath and even though it is only DW and myself, we want it and will never get another MH without one. The 1/2 bath can be filled with stuff if the need ever arises for more storage space.

BTW, I generally start the laundry when I begin cooking breakfast for DW every morning so no worries about too large of a load in the Splendide.

mommaluvsdis- thank you for those observations! And thanks to everyone else! This is the kind of firsthand experience I was hoping to get info on to see if my idea was worthwhile or not.

John- you do laundry and cook?! Can you come teach my DH? :rotfl2:

I'm re-thinking the whole idea now with the talk of flooding. We would have to run the lines ourselves and connect them into the piping ourselves. My DH can do it but.............

Sorry, but must differ (to each his or her own, right?)
. . . same here

I hated doing laundry at DisneyWorld.
. . . who doesn't

And when I did laundry each trip there were always other peoples' wash running.
Sometimes their wash would be done, just sitting there in the washer or dryer.
. . . ah, yes
. . . the problem with public laundries

My husband laughs at me because I'm always excited to do wash in the camper, lol.
. . . well, I think I would, too
. . . that is akin to loving a root canal - when YOU are not the dentist

I would rather not do laundry while at FW. But then for a long stay your choice is either pack more stuff, or do laundry. Since we are usually at Disney for 12 nights, we usually only buy 10 day park hoppers with the plans for down days. Those are usually the days I plan on doing laundry as a down day is just nice to have anyway.

Oh, Rusty, you really made me laugh!

I do my wash first thing in the morning. And first thing in the morning for me is about 7:00 AM. My family gets up at 9:00 (yes, even at DisneyWorld), so I guess part of why I like to do laundry in my camper is that it gives me something quiet to do while my family sleeps in. And I don't have to change out of my pj's.

For anyone worried about flooding, any flooding that might happen would first be caught in the washer floor pan (that is optional for the Splendide), but I would catch a problem before any damage occurs. I would highly recommend having the floor pan installed if you do get a washer.

I would not have an rv without a washer and dryer. I use mine all the time. The only vibration I get is when it starts the spin cycle in washer, once the spin is at full speed vibration not bad. Yes you are right you can't put big loads in. For example one set of queen sheets is the most I can put in for it to dry properly and not get all twisted. Don't fill more than 3/4 full of clothes.
