Laundry tabs (discontinued...now what?!)~update!

So here's my question...

Do the resorts (specifically BWV and SSR) have a vending laundry machine?

Crazy how this thread is still going strong. My DH are going home in January and were wondering how we would wash our clothes because we really didn't want to take detergent with us.

Thanks everyone.

There's a vending machine at SSR that sells laundry detergent and fabric softener sheets. But I found it no problem to take a couple of sandwich bags with powdered detergent in them, and some dryer sheets.

I forgot to pack the laundry tabs (I have a few Purex tabs lef) and bought a cheap bottle of Publix Brand liquid detergent, it worked fine. I think a quart bottle was less then $3. While the tabs are great to pack, the cheap stuff works in a pinch, without feeling like you've thrown a ton of $$ away when you don't pack the leftover to take home.

I would like to know why the laundry tablets have been banned, we have thousands of brands of laundry tablets here in the UK, we also have liquid tablets too which are fab.

I don't think the tabs have been banned but rather just not produced any longer. Apparently we DVCers aren't a large enough market to make the tabs profitable. ;)

Well I'm totally out of luck. DS and I need the "free and clear" laundry detergent. I've always just packed a large ziplock of the powdered stuff.
