How much detergent do they have in the unit? I don't want to bring detergent due to TSA regs, etc....

If you are in a 1-bedroom or larger, one single load package. They sell more at the resort.

It's something like $1.50 per box, or thereabouts. We haven't bought any in a while, as we keep a bottle in our Owner's Locker.

One word of warning: some folks like those all-in-one washer/dryer sheets. I used to be one of those people until I ruined some shirts using them. It's not an uncommon problem. (That's not my site, but my shirts looked just like that.) Theme park wear is probably fine, but anything you might wear to the office should stay far away from these.

We brought some of those Tide Pods with us in August. Just put them in a tupperware container in our checked luggage, no problems! :)

We did the same. Other than, we put the pods in our carry ons in the ziploc bags. 2 of them really doesn't take up too much room. Love them!!!

We use a detergent called Charlie's Soap. I love the way it works and that it doesn't have a perfume-y smell, and it requires very little liquid to wash a full load (like 1/4-1/8 of a cup). We started using it when my son was a baby because it was recommended for his cloth diapers, and we were amazed at how well it worked, and you'd KNOW if diapers weren't clean!

TSA doesn't really care about laundry detergent...

OK let me clarify. I've brought powdered in a baggie. They can tell what it is. Especially if you're using a smelly detergent, they can tell. If you want to bring liquid, put it into the 3.4 oz bottles you can buy (I get mine at Safeway for 99 cents) and put it in your 311 bag. Or just go to the store and buy some if you have a car. Publix carries relatively small containers of Tide and All, and they are relatively inexpensive, I've noticed.

And you should get another box on each service day you have. We got one box for our entire eight night stay.

I always go to Target or Walmart and pick up some travel sized detergent. I am always happier with my purchase than what the resort has to offer and this assures that I can do a load a day. (family of five; takes a load a day to stay on top of things).

Hi, newbie here. Just wondering, do the washers use all forms of detergent; powder, liquid, or pods?

Yes, most have the smaller stacking ones, OKW has full sizes units. None need HE. One problem with the pods is that you can't vary their size and on vacation with smaller units, we're often washing smaller loads. I'd just get a smaller box of powered detergent or put some in a good ziplock.
