Laundry Detergent has changed ... Tide swapped for All

I am assuming it is the very same as the Tide Stain Release pods that have been out for several years now.

Tiger

The outer portion is. Like the dishwasher pods as well.

Maybe it's the fact that I'm a dude but I would be happy using a douse of dish detergent to wash my clothes. But then again, I am of the uncivilized portion of society that doesnt separate my colors and whites. It just doesn't matter to me if my socks are pink or something. If people judge me by my socks, I have bigger issues I need to work on.

On another note, I would never expect consistency with what type of detergent is supplied in a unit. If I had special needs I would feel the personal responsibility to ensure that I brought the correct detergent or whatever to ensure no one got sick. Just as my wife will never rely on hotel or resort bath products, she brings her own. If our destination has somethin she can use then its just a bonus.

Agree 100% that it's personal responsibility if you have allergies or sensitivities to bring the product that you can use without a reaction. There can always be issues with vendors or changing contracts so never a guarantee as to what products will be supplied. That said, we checked out of OKW on 3/5 and we had Tide.

I'm the opposite. Since I'm allergic to Tide this is no loss to me.

Agree completely! Hurray - tide and my skin did not get along.

never heard of anyone being allergic to All - :confused3 - it is one of the gentlest detergent out there.

Last week at OKW we had Tide.

This week we have Tide at Bay Lake. Thank god, 'cause I would have hurled myself off the Skyway Bridge if All was supplied in the room.

Frankly, I'd be happy to get 2 of any brand! I've only ever gotten one, no matter how long the stay, you would think with a 2 br you would get two, but no, so I bring my own!

Ajax and All as well as Tide all come in Pods now. I was able to get All and Ajax at Shoprite for under $2.00 Target has the Tide but a small bag was $6.00. I'm holding out to see if there are any Tide coupons in the papers soon. These are awesome for travel!!!

UPDATE: My first order of Tide Pods arrived yesterday. I ran one load last night in my front-loading, HE washer. It seemed to work well.

The pods themselves are a very flimsy-feeling gelatin. There are three compartments. Each compartment holds a liquid detergent. (I had expected powder, like a dishwasher pod??) To transport, I think I'll have to carry them in a hard-sided container like a knock-off TupperWare product.

Since Costco was handing them out as samples last week, I tried one for the first time (I'm not a Tide fan, I believe soap is soap). I agree that they're flimsy-feeling...I think they're going to have to go into the quart ziploc bag unless you normally check luggage. I've got too much already in my quart ziploc bags, so I'm going to stick with the Purex 3-in-1 :thumbsup2

This is not something I see as a good idea for DVC trips or travel in general. It gives you no size options as well as the mess risk. Fortunately I have a supply of the 3 in 1 sheets, after that, I'd likely go back to powder in ziplock bags if needed.
