Laundry Detergent has changed ... Tide swapped for All

FWIW, for those who like or are allergetically accustomed to Tide, you can purchase the following nearby:
a) 4-load box at BWV Screen Door for $5
b) 15-load box at Hess for $7.20

Leave it up to the Dis'ers to have a 2 page thread on which brand of $1.00 laundry detergent is provided :rotfl:

Ain't it the truth! DH says that as long as it's free it's OK with him. Now if they start trying to charge us for the detergent, well......:rotfl2:

My family has no allergies - but when we went to BJ's to purchase our Tide He detergent and saw there was a coupon for All - that saved us $12 on the same size bottle - we are now a family using All. Clothes are just as clean. And I have an extra $12 to spend on vacation.;)

Checked into BWV last night ... and discovered that the Laundry Detergent has been changed. We found two single-load boxes of 'ALL' instead of 'TIDE.'
OMG........THATS THE LAST STRAW.......i am cancelling and never going to wdw again.............:laundy:

This is disappointing to me as related to allergies -- but not entirely surprising. So many timeshares that had supplied TIDE in the past have been moving to alternative products.

I'm glad we had a few single-load boxes in our Owner's Locker -- but will certainly need to restock. Sigh.
PROBLEM SOLVED!

Tide has introduced Tide PODS -- which appear to be very easy to pack for travel. I've just ordered some from Amazon.

I'm a Tide fan, especially since Consumer Reports consistantly rates it as the best laundry detergent. I saw the pods last week at my grocery store, but didn't buy them. What happens to the plastic pod? Does it dissolve into the water?

But I bring my own anyway. And I get it at the grocery store 32 loads for $6.99 with a coupon. ;)

We bring Purex 3-in-1 sheets, there's detergent and fabric softener in each sheet, and they pack easily in ziploc bags. We like to pack very lightly, and these weigh nothing :thumbsup2

I watched the videos on the Product Info page linked above. Yes, the plastic seal dissolves during use. They add the cautions, "Dry your hands before touching the product; Close lid and store in dry location; keep out of reach of children."

We lugged a 64-load box of Tide when we first got our Owner's Locker and before airlines encouraged us to streamline our packing lists. That box is long gone ...

1 cup of laundry detergent? Seriously? This is the hill we're going to die on?
I don't think my original post was so dramatic as to lead to either death or selling DVC (as another poster suggests) -- but if want to go there: It is no fun being around my family when we are so itchy due to laundry soap that we're willing to scratch to the point of bleeding. It isn't pretty ... and we simply aren't so great to be around.

We are a happier lot when we wash in Tide, avoid smokers and avoid fluorescent lighting. (Obey these little rules and nobody goes to E.R.)

I know our local P&G lady and she had some Tide PODS samples that she was putting on the liquid Tide one day. She gave me a few samples for us to try. I will let you know how they work.
Great -- thanks! I'm expecting good things! (Although I normally stick with "unscented" products and PODS are only offered in Scented variations??)

Was at THV until 2/25 and it was tide when we arrived, tide again at full cleaning and tide again on T&T day.

I used to be, but no more. Our washer started getting stinky - so cleaned it with vinegar and bleach (not together). A couple of months later it happened again. Then again. By this point I decided to start doing a little internet research and consensus seemed to be this mostly happened with Tide. I stopped buying Tide and have not had that problem in 3+ years!

The pods are not plastic they are geletin and they melt.

Not sure about tide, but All Free and Clear has a pod available, saw them at Target last week while shopping.

That's good to hear. Just don't put whipped cream on them and eat them, though. ;)

I am assuming it is the very same as the Tide Stain Release pods that have been out for several years now.

Maybe it's the fact that I'm a dude but I would be happy using a douse of dish detergent to wash my clothes. But then again, I am of the uncivilized portion of society that doesnt separate my colors and whites. It just doesn't matter to me if my socks are pink or something. If people judge me by my socks, I have bigger issues I need to work on.

On another note, I would never expect consistency with what type of detergent is supplied in a unit. If I had special needs I would feel the personal responsibility to ensure that I brought the correct detergent or whatever to ensure no one got sick. Just as my wife will never rely on hotel or resort bath products, she brings her own. If our destination has somethin she can use then its just a bonus.
